Watching that OKC/GS game last night was so depressing. I remember when the Knicks used to play in games that exciting and meaningful down the stretch of the season all the time. When they used to be in the news for how they were gearing up for the playoffs...etc. I really can't even remember the last time that the Knicks were in the position that either of those two teams were last night, or playing in a game that exciting. That was two rosters of legitimately great players throwing haymakers at each other. Last time New York participated in a basketball game in that sort of capacity was literally 20 years ago.

Now? Now the basketball is boring as it has been for decades (DECADES!!), they're habitually uncompetitive and the only sh*t that gets talked about is what Phil or Melo are saying on social media. Following this team is sh*t. The games are lame and even trying to actually talk about anything technical about the game of basketball just devolves into the same tired bitchfest about the same people over and over, some of that rightfully so and some of it not. This isn't going to change any time remotely in the near future either. Ugh.

It really sucks too, because this is turning into a legitimately entertaining era of the NBA. It would be fun if the Knicks could be a part of it, but it's becoming pretty clear that is 99% not happening.

Its sad, but I can see the good times it coming if the NYK just make no brainer moves.

Phil is playing the role of stubborn old man to a T, and it just boggles. Now he has this stupid tweet. It doesn't matter if hes talking about play style, Phil, youre freakin 41-100 as an executive of an NBA team. Dont talk about the reigning MVP and chsmpion who is about to repeat in both in anyway that needs interpretation. Phil is a failure and his system is a failure.

Hopefully this summer the right moves are finally made. Knicks have a chance to follow the OKC blueprint. Dont blow it.

It's sad, THE ONLY JOY I get from Watching the Knicks is Porzingis develop his game and Robin Lopez's 1960's hook shot that is about as pretty a Chewbacca's butthole after a chili contest (pure conjecture, not factual).

Is Rebecca Harlow heroine chic or just some weird Tim Burton blonde claymation doll?

Knicks are basically unwatchable. Team has no direction and terrible coaching. Just mind boggling how badly the team is run.

It took a backup PG for you to notice the Knicks are poorly run? It's been like this since 2001. The owner makes Woody and the Wilpons look competent.

I hadn't really followed the NBA for a long time. Don't know much about the Knicks. I know bad basketball and poor management when I see it.

I hate this man more than any player/coach to ever play for one of my teams:

It was an ugly Garden night filled with boos, relentless “We want Jimmer’’ chants in the fourth quarter and a wild exchange between Carmelo Anthony and a heckler.

With the Knicks star watching from the bench during the final stages of a disgraceful 104-85 loss to the Blazers, a frustrated Anthony told the fan he should ask owner James Dolan for his money back and leave him alone.

It was rock bottom for the Knicks on a night Anthony showed he had lost his hops, even if it was a practice dunk, then lost his cool on the bench. It was a night of shame for Knicks fans — three of whom wore bags over their heads.

Another fan got into it with Anthony and wound up being escorted from his seat by security.

“He kept calling my name, calling my name, said you guys suck, you guys suck,’’ Anthony said. “At that point, I was trying to gather myself. I turned around and all I did was pointed to Dolan. I told him, ‘look, the owner’s right there, ask for your money back.’ At that point, he told me he wasn’t coming to another game. You just don’t want to hear that. I pointed to the owner and told him, ‘look, you deal with that with him and see if you can get your money back.’ ’’

The Knicks fell to a season-worst 12 games under .500 at 25-37, amid a 3-15 stretch and dropped to 2-6 under interim coach Kurt Rambis.

In a further indictment, Anthony said things feel worse than last season’s 17-65 debacle.

“It’s tougher now,” he said. “At least last year we were starting from the bottom. This year we got off to a good start. If I had the answers it would be a lot different.’’

Rambis finally surrendered to the chanting and put cult hero Jimmer Fredette into the game with 3:13 left in the blowout.

It likely was the final game of Fredette’s 10-day Knicks career and he served as more of a distraction and example of the franchise’s dysfunction. Rambis said he understood the chants for Fredette, who made 4-of-5 free throws, calling him “the hometown favorite.’’

Portland point guard Damian Lillard scored 24 of his 30 points in the first half against an overmatched Jose Calderon, who shot 2-of-8 and was booed mercilessly. Midway through the fourth quarter, Calderon missed two straight 3-pointers and the Garden’s favorite whipping boy was hit by vicious boos.

“We had trouble containing the guards most of the night,’’ Rambis said.

Kyle O’Quinn, thought to be an important signing, was also booed loudly as he bricked one after another on the way to a 3-of-10 showing.

Across the fourth quarter, the angry fans chanted “Jimmer’’ and “We want Jimmer’’ as the upstate Glens Falls product looked on sheepishly. When he finally arose from the bench, the fans stood and cheered. They roared every time he touched the ball but he didn’t launch a shot, drawing two fouls.

One came after an inbounds with 0.8 seconds left. The home clock didn’t start when he got the ball at midcourt, dribbled ahead and launched a shot at the buzzer. The Blazers bench started yakking at Fredette for shooting.

This wasn’t one for the Anthony highlight reel.

Anthony scored 23 points but will be remembered for his after-the-whistle dunk attempt. After getting blocked inside, the ball went out of bounds. Anthony picked it up and tried to dunk it. The ball slammed off the front rim and he tumbled hard to the court. He laughed it off, but the 31-year-old’s hops aren’t what it used to be, especially coming off left knee surgery.

“I was trying to figure it out,’’ Anthony said. “My mind and body were telling me two different things. You got to laugh at yourself.’’

Or cry.

With this being back to a train wreck hopefully Grant gets more playing time.  Unfathomable why Sasha is still playing.

Key is to get both Grant and KP time and no injuries.

Knicks have to trade Melo in offseason and get back a 1st rounder (preferably multiple ones).  According to Francesca (via Isola), MSG won't let Phil hire Shaw or Rambis to be HC next year.  Thibs is still out there.  Somehow that has to get done.

Dolan remains the problem, but until he gets Sterlinged, the Knicks have to work around that if they want to improve

With the New York Knicks sinking further and further out of the playoff picture, Carmelo Anthony is getting fed up.

Late in Tuesday night's loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Melo had some words with a heckling fan. Chris Herring of the Wall Street Journal took note of the exchange:

According to ESPN New York's Ian Begley, Anthony directed the fan to owner Jim Dolan and told them to ask for a refund:

I've resigned myself to it being a pipe dream but OKC is really struggling right now and that bodes very well for both guys bolting over the next couple years. There's still a lot of time left in the season so who knows, but if they slip to the 4-seed and have to face Golden State in the second round things are going to get very interesting for Durant and Westbrook and the free agency possibilities.

I want Westbrook in 2017 and get the OKC issues, but the best chance for the NYK to improve going forward (meaning, it won't happen) is trading Melo this offseason and getting Brooklyn's 1st rounder from the Celtics.

Will Westbrook consider 3rd year KP (only 22 yrs old) and 2016 lottery pick as something worth joining?  Besides The Unicorn, the main selling point for Westbrook is that he will finally be The Man.

BTW, I loathe these "Frustrated Melo" arguments.  Melo ******* had TWO chances to leave.  First as a FA 2 years ago and now at the trading deadline and he didn't.

I don't see why Boston would entertain that idea at this point. The entire reason that trade made sense at the deadline is because they wanted Love and the surprise success of the Celtics and the fact that Cleveland looks beatable and Lebron becoming Mr. Whatever again. When the season's done Melo will be 32 and who knows if Cleveland would even still want to take the risk anymore, or if Boston gets a shot at Simmons why the hell would they bother? I think any leverage the Knicks had in asking for something of that magnitude disappeared as soon as Dolan's dumb, stubborn ass let the deadline expire. I don't think we're getting anything of real value back when (and I do think it's just a when at this point) Melo gets dealt. He's old and a malcontent at this point. In the NBA you can get away being one or the other, but not both. IMO best case scenario is a salary dump and maybe some sort of future protected pick, and the roster next year will actually suck more than this year.

According to Isola, the Celtics still want to pursue the Melo trade in the summer. They're actually a win now team and want to unload the picks. A flip for Love is still possible

Plus, the Melo window is on a different track than Knicks with KP.

KP will be 23 when Melo's contract ends, or in other words, he'll be Timmy Jr.'s age now. That's how big the age disparity

No, I do not want Kevin Love.  Trade Melo for picks.

Melo isn't getting rid of the no trade clause unless it's a trade to the Clippers, Lakers or Bulls.  Lebron is going back to Miami this summer so please no more Melo for Love talk it's nauseating.

Knicks aren't trading for Love. I only mentioned him because a 3 way trade with Cleveland is still possible (with Knicks getting picks).

LeBron isn't going back to Miami with Wade old and Bosh with a heart condition.

Again, no one has said anything about Melo for Love. Ainge has a hard on for Love. Celtics don't have anything Cavs want, hence the 3 way for Melo.

Last night's game is proof that demonic possession is real.  There is no way the real Sasha could shot that well.

Sasha was literally the bottom 5 worst shooters in the NBA all season, then he doesn't miss.  That wasn't Sasha.

Also, how bad are the Suns?  Poor Chandler.
