Popular Post derp
Anderson is a beast. McDonald is the guy in this class who moves and bends like a high end NFL pass rusher. He produced in college in a scheme that didn’t really let him rip off the edge like the Jets’ scheme will. And the Jets don’t have that bendy pass rusher because Johnson isn’t that guy. Hopefully the plan is sub packages this year - Huff-Williams-JFM-McDonald would be nasty - and then McDonald develops enough against the run to take over for Lawson next season. Worst case maybe he gets year two in the Huff role and it’s JJ/Clemons. 5
GreenReaper
He will be a wildcard in the pass rush. He will be set up wide outside of JJ or Lawson. But also can be utilized inside between the DE and Q. Because his explosive speed + spin-bend moves would give OG's plenty of problems too. And his presence inside would take away from the OL focusing double teams on Q. Many thought McDonald would be picked in 2nd round. JD-Saleh think differently. I'm definitely excited to see how he fits in the DL rotation. And the impact he'll bring to the DL pass rush. Could very well be the missing link to a scary potent pass rush.

KRL
Since McDonald is 6-4 he should have no problem putting on 10 pounds to get in the 255 range
SomebodytoAnybody47
Jets were ranked low in pressure to sack rate. Time to change that.
Popular Post jetstream23
Bryce Huff has been the pass rushing weapon on 3rd downs. He's the guy with the most production per snap as a passrusher here. Limited snaps but he's brought in like the closer in baseball. I think it could be insanely fun watching Huff and McDonald come from opposite sides to attack the QB on 3rd and long situations (with QW coming up the middle).

I'll have to find the stat I saw, it's probably been posted somewhere on the board already, but not only is his pressure rate elite, he also finishes those pressures with sacks at an extremely high level. Some of that obviously has to do with his bend, but I think his wing span (6'10 I believe) also shouldn't be overlooked. You see it with Lawson where he'll get close to the QB but is unable to convert because of his shorter arms; in a league where tenths of seconds matter a whole lot, having the extra arm length can make a huge difference. And not only does it lead to more sacks, it leads to more strip sacks, another thing we've been crucially missing even in the years we have had good defenses.

Vader
See Sauce Gardner for "Length" advantage, especially when 40 yd is not elite. Theory here being elite "Length" > elite 40 yd dash in many cases. McDonalds is like Supersized Sauce
jetstream23
Does anyone have the Pass Rush Win Rate % for McDonald (and the other Edge rushers)? It seems like that's the measure that should stand out for this guy.

On true pass sets his Pass Rush Win Rate % is an absurd 45.8%.
