Non Jets training camp news around the league.....

Recommended Posts

As predicted, it's happening...

Though Russell Wilson entered training camp in "pole position" and it appeared the starting job would be his job to lose, Wilson's conditioning test calf injury makes things interesting for the Steelers. With Wilson slowly ramping up, Justin Fields has taken nearly all of the first-team reps, and his best practice came in the team's first padded practice Tuesday where he completed every pass attempt. Not only did he connect with George Pickens on a one-handed touchdown grab, but he also showed off his wheels in a couple of designed runs. Wilson is still likely in the lead for the job, but if Fields can make routine -- and splash -- plays consistently, this might be more of a competition than it initially appeared. -- Brooke Pryor

Rams' Sean McVay Concerned with Latest Injury to Star Receiver Puka Nacua

Oh boy.  Happened at a joint practice w/ the chargers.  Devastating news for the rams if its serious.

Latest reports have him week-to-week, which is fantastic news for them. Basically, they'll shut him down for the rest of camp and he'll be good to go week 1

Bo Nix starting to pull away.  For any gambling men, put some cheese on Bo Nix for rookie of the year and denver over 5.5 wins.

All I ask is you thank me at the end of the season.

It helps that he’s competing against two lousy quarterbacks

Meanwhile we are working out Jarvis Landry

Another obnoxious comment.  Aiyuk is going to cost just a little more than the retired Landry.  Not to mention significant draft capital.

We have a one year window with Karen.  Unless you believe he’s playing 3 more seasons which even he isn’t saying now

Latest update Steelers won’t give 49ers what they want and they have trade offers in that they like from Browns/Pats but no trade will happen if Aiyuk isn’t willing to sign a contract

Brandon Aiyuk

The San Francisco 49ers have the framework of a trade involving wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk with both the Cleveland Browns and the New England Patriots. It's now up to Aiyuk to decide if he will accept either team's contract terms. Earlier on Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that the 49ers granted other teams permission to speak to Aiyuk's agent about a contract in the event of a trade. It sounds like the potential for a deal is beginning to gain traction again after it was also reported earlier in the day that the Pittsburgh Steelers were unable to put together a package to acquire Aiyuk. As long as he agrees to the structure of a new contract with either Cleveland or New England, Aiyuk could find himself on the move sooner rather than later.

smh Rattler was an obvious target for backup QB
Instead Jets went for no-upside Jordan Travis and for doubling down on behemoth plodding RBs after already taking Braelon Allen
Terrible news about Haener’s diagnosis

So Cleveland it is... He'd be a fool to leave San Francisco to go to the Pats this year and have no chance to win and be stuck there for years on a new deal
