Brit 1 "hey, did you watch that superthingy last night?"

Brit 2 "the what?"

Brit 1 "Y`know that american game with the helmets"

Brit 2 "Oh, that thing with all the shoulder pads, bloody wimps"

Brit 1 "Yeah, no they`re really big blokes apparently, it was in Miami"

Brit 2 "I`d love to go to florida and swim with dolphins"

Brit 1 "Yeah, me too, have you seen my new mobile phone?"

Brit 2 "Oooooh what ringtones do you have?"

Brit 3 "Hey does it have the internet?"

Brits 4-31 "Give me your number so I can send you text messages"

Brit 32 "Hey everybody, shut up, they`re about to announce who`s on big brother 14"

All "yay!!!!

End

Maybe it just needs the Jets to get there to raise awareness over here...

That was good!

Byrd#90 is not having a go at America. He is having a go at his pommie mates who don't give a stuff.

Remember that Byrd is a Jets fan who takes the time to post on JN.

No need to make fun of the UK (You can leave that to me).

Cheers Gainzo.

Not a pop at the US but more one at the lax attitude of those over the pond.

I can only conclude that someone at the NFL after the numbers were done

figured they could fleece the brits and wembley stadium out of a few quid more than

it cost to force 2 teams over here.

If they really wanted to increse awareness of the game and get merchandise

purchased how about when the next TV deal comes around, they don`t sell out

to the highest bidder(SKY) and allow it to be shown to a wider audience?

Or maybe scrap that stupid gamepass ripoff and allow people to listen to their

favourite teams for free?? just a thought like...

The NFL played a preseason game in Sydney before the Olympics. The people who showed up booed every time there was a stoppage in play (for good reason).

You and I understand the game and appreciate it. That makes us minnows when it comes to people not from America who like the NFL.

Sky? Murdoch can perform impossible sexual acts on himself for all I care!

BTW: The AFL (Australian Football League) streams the radio feeds for free on their website. You have to pay $50 a year to get video highlights 2 days later.

Nothing?? after we gave you Soccer King Beckham to help your floundering

MLS??? shame on you..

Help? What is a mediocre Englishman (is there any other kind?) going to do for us? Maybe if the MLS still ended tie games in penalty shots...

That was a joke about Beckham. Tongue and cheek stuff.

Byrd is not making fun of you blokes. Relax.

Soccer will never catch on and be as important a sport here, no matter what American lovers of the game try to tell us all. Americans by and large just don't care about it - or even like it. That's no cut on the sport of soccer or on the athleticism and skill involved, it's just how it is. The interest just isn't there.

I agree 100%.

There are 3 places left in the World who don't care about soccer:

USA, Australia & New Zealand.

I meant to ask if they still have those crazy shootouts to break tied games!

What Mr Beckham would like to do is sell lots of shirts with his name on the back and

persuade guys to buy his brand of aftershave to help them get laid.

If you watch Soccer, the terrorists win.

I`m tired of them winning, when is it Englands time to start winning?.

actually theres lots of NFL fans in the uk.

welcome english jet. contrary to naysayers in this thread, it's great to get opinions from our fellow jet fans from across the pond.

my wife is british & she hates going thru customs, being greeted by indians with turbans saying welcome to our country, then having to produce massive documentation to get in.
