Maxman
Johan Santana. Well, he might not be available. At least the Yankees still have Ian Kennedy and Melky. The Yankees would have gotten killed for payroll if they traded Johan. You guys should be happy in the short term. Because in the long term, the Yankees are on the right path. It will be interesting to see if some of those young guys they refused to budge on are moved at all, because if they are they definitely won't be getting someone the calibur of a Johan Santana back. Blackout
there is no "big name" pitcher but they have to go after some sort of veteran who is servicable and can potentially eat up innings
Arsis
Hank is what happens when you have fans running the show. a non baseball guy that has no idea how things are done. He will ruin the yankees.

Achilles
Don't follow Yankees baseball but they can easily bring up Kei Igawa and make Joba a starter. Most teams in the NL are in need of pitching and the Rays won't deal with the Yanks. Who knows, maybe Anthony Reyes?

shawn306
Yankees never won under George. That team was built when he wasn't there. He was the owner of the team when they won the World Series in 1977 and 1978. He was alot more trouble then for players and managers then.

Again, he only bought the team in 73 and was suspended a good part of that time. He was suspended for 15 months and only come back in 1976. So he didn't really have a whole lot to do with those either.

Arsis
He signed Catfish Hunter and Reggie Jackson. He had a lot to do with the building of that team. Are you serious? I'm serious about the fact that he did more harm than good, that his style of ownership sucked and that he was directly responsible for many losing seasons. MagicBizkit87
Once J. Brent Cox comes to the team, then Joba will be named the starter. Does Humberto Sanchez have any chance of coming back this year? Mark Melancon might be this seasons Joba Chamberlain from what I have been hearing. These 3 all should be on the major league team by next year. Which means we might have a kick ass pen. Rivera Cox Melancon Sanchez Marte (HOPEFULLY) Ohlendorf Ramirez? If we do however end up stupidly going after a pitcher, I think we'd look at Roy Oswalt. That was not your original premise. You said he did not have a lot to do with the building of the '77 and '78 championships. but he clearly did. And yes, he has caused harm to the Yankees at times, but you can't deny his want to win.
