For those that want a WR, I have one question.

Who is throwing him the ball..... Farve is mulling retirement the rest of them are question marks. I would like to have that position at least narrowed down to a choice between two before I draft a WR.

We need an edge rusher or a CB to compliment Revis

Ok Kiper is mentally deficient at this point, he's completley ignoring that this draft is one of the better draft or OT's in a few years and there are a lot of teams looking for tackels, he looks like he's just throwing big name offensive players at a board....also if we don't do any D FA and Maualuga or Jackson are sitting there when we pick there is no way...no freaking way Ryan passes on both.

**** yes to Harvin!!!!

Playmakers boys, we need playmakers!

Harvin and Leon Washington in the same offense? Defensive coordinators will be having nightmares.

if he replaces Dwight Smith, I would be ok with it, but is he really a 1st rounder?

I agree no way he passes on Maualuga. I have been paying attention to the Senior Bowl practices and the scouts all see him as a 2 down LB, which could allow him to slip down to us. No way does a 2 down player go in the top 10 in their opinion.

ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE who is not employed by 1 of the 32 NFL teams who does a mockery draft in January is mentally deficient.

hello he is being paid by espn to do one

I get paid by my employer to do things too, but they don't let me do meaningless things t hat have absolutely no chance of being right.

Doing a mockery draft in January is meaningless.. those who read it are just bored with nothing to do. Until FA hits and cuts happen in February, they mean nothing. Heck, we haven't had the combine yet. How are we going to project the workout warrior of the draft until that happens?

If you're implying that the mock draft was posted for accuracy, than unfortunately and with all due respect, you're the one who's mentally deficient.

It's a website. They need content to sell Ad Space. The mock draft is content, right or wrong, people will read it and it starts a conversation.

I don't think anyone at ESPN is holding this as the gospel. It's simply something for them to post to keep their site full of 'stuff'.

It's a waste of bandwidth until March.

Lowery's a fine guy to have on the roster. He simply does not have the physical tools to be a starter, and is way too slow to be in the slot.

I'm not ready to throw Lowery to the scrap heap just yet EY. Mangini had some "issues" with ALL his rookies last year. For some reason or another he took to bullying them. He did it with Keller, he did it with Lowery...Henry never saw a second and Gholston...well we all know what happened there (poor coaching).

Dwight Lowery CAN be a starter for us this year especially if we start forcing (with an actual pass rush) opposing QB's to throw the ball the way Favre threw it the last half of the year.

When you got a guy like Revis on the other side there's only one other to throw to and that guy is gonna need some help from the front 7

We all know what happened with Mamula, I mean Gholston. Coaching may have something to do with it, but the fact is everyone takes measurables and counts them way too much.

According to you.

However, I'd go out on a limb and say that the folks at espn.com have a better handle on what a good use of bandwidth is than you might. They've been running a pretty successful sports website for some time now.

Also, how's this for useful. How many people do you think had no idea who Percy Harvin was before reading that. Sure, the Jets may not get him, but the information I got out of it was that he's a shorter, speedier receiver who may be available when we pick. This certainly isn't the cover of TIME magazine, but it's useful none the less.

And again, it's all about content.

As far as I'm concerned, you can't coach speed. And Lowery had some serious deficiencies in that dept.

Coaching plays it's role, and now that he's gone, it's easy to blame everything on Mangini, but coaching isn't what had WR's leaving Lowery behind on INs and OUTs repeatedly.

the good news is we now have a coach in place who I can actually TRUST to put the BPA in the position...first time since Bill Parcells was here. This guy is a PROVEN defensive specialist and if he feels we need a new CB I'm sure we'll have one.

The cardinal rule of drafting: never draft a WR from Gainesville. I don't care how tall or fast he is or how many yards or touchdowns he got as a Gator. They all suck in the pros. The only halfway decent ones were Ike Hilliard, who was hardly good value for a top-10 overall pick, and Darrell Jackson, whose favorite pastime in between injuries is dropping passes.

Here are all the "playmaker" prospects from Florida drafted in rounds 1-2 in the past 15 years:

Ike Hilliard

Chad Jackson

Travis Taylor

Jacquez Green

Reidel Anthony

Taylor Jacobs

Reche Caldwell

Jabar Gaffney

I think we can do better with the 17th overall pick.

Go out on the limb all you want. I'm actually in charge of a website that is as large as ESPN's... so I have an idea.

All of those guys were either Spurrier or Zook guys. Anyone coming out of Florida now played in a different system and we have no way of knowing how their skills from Meyer's offense will translate at the next level.

Also, none of those guys were remotely as explosive as Harvin.
