KudosForND
Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum issued a statement announced that the club will keep four quarterbacks, following Sunday's addition of Kevin O'Connell. It doesn't mean Kellen Clemens will definitely keep the No. 2 QB job, as the Newark Star-Ledger points out that Erik Ainge "is gaining ground" after an aggressive, accurate preseason. O'Connell will be fourth string. Source: Newark Star-Ledger
Stonehands
Clemens is under contract through the end of the year and will depart and leave the jobs to Sanchez, Ainge and O'Connell.

NFLs StepChild
Just a thought...OConnell might just be here through week 2 to help us practice against the Pats offensive tendencies.

NFLs StepChild
You don't trade a pick for that? Nobody knows what the pick is though. Could be a conditional 7th based on him satying on the roster for more than 4 weeks...
Maxman
There is no way that 4 QBs is the long term plan. Not unless they are bringing John Gruden to this staff...

Maxman
No, then we'd have 5. Good point, I think Jeff Garcia is available. They would love to be together again.

Thai Jet
There is no way that 4 QBs is the long term plan. Not unless they are bringing John Gruden to this staff... Roster spots are too valuable to afford 4 QB's for very long. SOMEONE'S getting traded.
GodWearsAGrayHoodie
Of course Tanny is going to say that. Do you really expect him to say..... "We dumping one on our next pick up but we haven't told that player yet he is being cut." "We are working on trading one away. But the deal isn't done yet." GodWearsAGrayHoodie
You don't trade a pick for that? Normally no. Only if your coach is so obsessed with one team and one coach that it is the only team he talks about during the off season. And that when getting ready for week 1 of the season he is more focused on his week 2 oppenant than his week 1 oppoenant. Well then maybe. Me thinks Rex would be happier going 1-3 if the one win was against NE, then going 3-1 if the one loss was NE. I know there are posters on this forum that would be. The reality of this situation is that Pats fans are far more obsessed with Rex Ryan than Rex Ryan is with the Pats.
