SouthernJet
Uncle Sean lives in Charlotte. His rap studio is in Charlotte. The Panthers will suck for quite a few years. #1 Draft picks received in a trade with Panthers will be in Top10-15 for sure. Problem is with Pace out awhile, the DBs will be exposed even more with less of a pass rush. My guess the Pace injury forces Jets to go to 10/140's with big improvement in guaranteed bonus this week Revis signs with Jets by gametime next week. GodWearsAGrayHoodie
Carolina is an unlikely suitor. They don't have a second in 2011. Unlikely the team is going to want to put themselves in a postion where they have no pick higher than the third round.

Ghost
The Panthers always sneak up behind people. They have to great RBs and a great wideout. I think they'll be a 9-7 team.
Jets Voice of Reason
Im gonna let you in on a little secret. The Panthers are going to be a damn good football team this year. Bank on it. I disagree. They probably have the best RB tandem in the league but they still have a lot of the same problems they did last year. Inconsistent/bad QB play. Outside of Steve Smith they have Jarrett and Brandon Lafell at WR. Not really impressive. Their D lost Peppers. Not a big fan of their team this year. serphnx
Namdi is sure helping the Raiders, and Champ Bailey is sure helping the Broncos be dominant super teams! CB eats up too much cap space and is pretty worthless by itself. Football is always a team sport, but some positions have more impact than others. Rex Ryan and BB don't build their defenses with the best CBs in football, yet they've generally had the best defenses. Now BB probably cheated, but he even had Troy Brown playing the secondary for him. You build a defense through your Dline. Your front 7. Then you just plug in whoever in your secondary, and just need them to be average or above average. If you have an elite player there that's a nice bonus, but if you have the choice you'd rather have the elite pass rusher. I can't believe this Revis thing is still dragging on. It's truly ridiculous in my mind. Wilson and Cro seem fine to me, I'd prefer Wilson as the 3 CB this year, but apparently they have Wilson playing Revis' role right now (not Cro actually). Regardless, the defense will be fine, even without Revis everyone expects this unit to be #1. The offense is the greater worry right now, but if it gels that's even better. Remember also Jenkins is back in for the Jets. That's a bigger addition to me than a Revis loss, as Jenkins is actually the Jets most important piece on defense. NT over CB every day of the week. I believe Jake (mr Suck) is gone (Mangini helps yet another team)... Matt Moore (8TD's 2 INT's 1050 yards in 5 starts)is not inconsistent, the Defense will be solid, RB's are explosive. Thats hardly teh suck. That Defense will still pressure qb's without Peppers. Im thinking this is a well coached Football team that will get a wild card possibly push N.O. a bit. SenorGato
Deals I'd think about: Jets get: Rodgers-Cromartie Gabe Watson or Alan Branch Rashad Johnson 2011 1, 2, 5 2012 1, 3 Cardinals get: Revis 2011 2, 4 2012 3 -------------------- Jets get: Mathias K. Carolina's offense has gone 0-for-42 this preseason Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on August 30, 2010 11:14 AM ETJets and Cowboys fans have been complaining about their team's offenses. The Dolphins, Chiefs, and Giants have certainly looked rusty at times. None of them can match the marathon of futility the Panthers offense has embarked upon this month. Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer points out that the Panthers offense has started 42 offensive possessions during the preseason. They've yet to score a touchdown. DeAngelo Williams was running on Saturday night behind the first team offensive line, and he only put up 13 yards on nine carries. Matt Moore hasn't looked awful, but he's missed a few key throws. The personnel around him looks overmatched. Sure, Jonathan Stewart and Steve Smith haven't been out there. But that points out Carolina's weakness: Their skill position depth ranks among the worst in football. The Panthers threaten to have a very good defense this year and could make a surprise run to the playoffs. They will probably need to score some offensive touchdowns to do that. Klecko73isGod
What no one is taking into account in any of these trade scenarios is that no team is going to pay Revis what he wants, structured the way he wants it with his history of holding out so no deal can possibly be made anyway. It is rare that we agree. But that is 100% true. Revis is asking for more than he would get if he was an unrestricted FA. Even if the Jets cut him nobody would sign him for what he is demanding, so the chances of a team giving up a pick AND pay the amount Revis wants is nil.
