This joke of a franchise just blew their cap space on mediocre-at-best players and even then, the worst offseason move will be passing on Dennis Smith, Jr.

Could be. I dunno.

I continually struggle to understand how they can have a roster with Melo, and now KP, and fail so hard to be competitive. I also think the new GM should be able to hire his own coach, and if that means that Hornacek is gone - so be it.

I think the easy answer there is they're not as good as everyone says they are(or think they are). KP, Melo, Hardaway at 70 mill and Lee...that's a logjam. Not to mention WHG and Noah. Porzingis doesnt really have a position and his current game overlaps with what Melo and Hardaway already do. And if you put him at center he's not as good as WHG.

Melo's opting out after 2017/2018 season so they'll have the flexibility then,

In more good news, it's official: We are signing Steve Mills, the guy who stonewalled a previous GM candidate from hiring his own people and gave Ron Baker the full MLE and a player option, to a multi-year deal as team president. And we're giving up a second round pick for the vice president of the Sacramento Kings.

Go New York go New York go.

Considering the string of established Hall of Fame basketball minds that the Dolan Knicks have ignored, sabotaged, chewed up and spit out, does it really matter if Perry is well regarded at this moment in time? Especially when you know he's not allowed to bring in his own people or have a shred of independence (as we learned from Griffen backing out)?

The cap is 100% ****ed for the next 2-3 years. They handcuffed his job in the week before they hired him with the THJ and Baker contracts. Unless he came in with some sort of agreement that his job is to draft and draft only, or he agreed to become one of Dolan's bitches, he's gone in 3 years.

It's nuts that the Knicks had all the right reasons to fire Phil and then completely went the wrong way with the firing and everything after it. This is setting up to be exactly like the Isiah era minus the sexual harassment.

The Baker contract is for $8.9 mil and he will opt out after next season it literally has zero point zero effect on our cap situation

Can Ntilikina dribble a ball in a preseason game before you declare him a bust?

Did they rehire Anucha Browne too?

Adam Silver for as much as he gets blown by all the, ahem, "progressives" allowing this Mills and Isiah clown show to continue is embarrassing.  Get a hold of your league man.

Perry wanted 1. out of Sacramento and 2. a pile of money. Being a powerless but well-paid figurehead in NY is not the worst thing in the world for him.

Rather bizarre that Dolan allows one of his franchises, the Rangers,  to be run mostly professionally and seriously while the other is a clown car being driven by a dry drunk clown, Dolan himself,   forever. Pile in the back, Scott.

Though in fairness the NBA is basically 30 or  so clown cars funded by TV contracts that are about to be radically reduced. Not sure how this business model continues to work. The NBA and the owners continue to tout the cap as this wonderful thing. All it does is suppress salaries, and also forces teams to pay otherwise JAGs pile of money,  But you cannot have 3/4s of the NBA knowing on he day after the draft they have no shot for years.  If you do not have a few superstars you are the Washington Generals anyway playing exhibition games for months except without the confetti. The TV ratings spare the Finals are awful, and ABC/ESPN is bleeding money. Simply in this craziness the Knick really aren't even out of the ordinary.

There's no way Dolan is dry. No way.

1. The defensive 3 seconds rule has to go 2. Players have to be forced to stay in college til they are juniors or 3 years out of high school 3. Replacement refs please.  The current refs in the NBA are all corrupt and on Vegas's payroll

I think this is the first time I've commented on him. But sure, okay. Sounds good.
