Il Mostro
Rex Ryan needs to go. How can a guy who has spent a lifetime on football fields actually believe IN HIS HEART that this guy gives this team it's best chance to win...how can this be? How can a head coach BE this blind, this clueless? Rex Ryan needs to go along with Tannenbaum. Then I come back down to earth and remember WHo the owner is, and what he believes in, what he cares the most about and I come back down to earth/reality This, this, this and this. He can pat them on the back but he cannot kick them in the ass. And after that asinine press conference today, he must be fired sometime soon. But as terrible as Sanchez is, the real culprits are Tannenbaum and Woody. Tannenbaum for thinking Sanchez was good enough---and Woody for just being a giant douche. GimmeShelter
While Rex is correct in that Sanchez gives the team the best chance to win he still needs to bench him. Each Sanchez press conf is the same old scripted lines of a guy who has zero fear of losing his job. The Jets are a joke for not having a capable replacement but still, you have to bench the QB if for no other reason but to try and wake him up. Right now Sanchez is in a dream world where he calls recent poor play, " a little bit of a slump". He has no fear for his job. Rex is either a bad coach or is not allowed to make the decision to yank Sanchez. If it is the latter, the team has bigger issues than we know. Game changing plays in no particular order and other glaring things about this team: Sanchez pick. Offensive line getting stuffed on consecutive plays in the 1st half when 1 yd keeps a nice drive going. Kerley muffed punt. Sanchez fumble. Defensive lineman who tried to pick up the fumble inside the 5 yd line instead of falling on it. Kyle Wilson 1st qtr fiasco. The weekly drops and routes ran incorrectly. Tebow use and Sparano horrific play calling.

Larz
What is the exact situation with Sanchez contract? How much is he owed if cut and what are the cap consequences? guaranteed thru 2013, then jets can void the rest of it.
LionelRichie
guaranteed thru 2013, then jets can void the rest of it. That's why Rex can't bench Sanchez. They are stuck with him for all of next season (wow!!) so all benching him accomplishes is having the highest paid backup QB in the NFL. Rex should just bench him and let Woody know that he is permanently staying on the bench. That would at least guarantee the end of Tannenbaum. CTM
i'm willing to bet Woody and ;/ or Tanny will force Rex to make the move... imo, this is just Rex bravado and thinking he's doing the honorable thing by having his guy's back.. he's not

JustInFudge
I can watch this sh*tshow on RedZOne if I don't go to the games anymore anyway. That would require the Jets to actually get into the Red Zone.
