Cheifs sign McKnight. Probably pulls a Woodhead

If McKnight can straighten out his physical situation and make a career for himself in the league, I say more power to him.  He was up and down for us, when he was physically all right it seems we didn't give him that much chance to become a consistent part of the offense.  The last year he was sick a lot and couldn't remain consclous.

If he goes to another team and does well, I'll be glad for him.  He was supposed to replace Leon/LaDainian and it hurt us that he couldn't, but we gave him a chance to show us.

Woodhead didn't get that much of a chance-not in there much on game situations.

Because he's not very good.

Because he's not very good.

He didn't get playing time because he was too short for coaches with very low self esteem. Schotty - our current and soon to be ex RB coach.   Brain dead loser coaches forget that Barry Sanders was the same height 5 8".

To Rex's credit he doesn't give a sh*t about height, just ability.

Woodhead is far more dynamic than McKnight ever was.  Why?  Because he studies.  He knows the play book in and out.  He's a blocker, knows his blitz pickups, knows when he's the hot read.  He can catch out of the backfield and runs hard, doesn't fumble.  And he's worked his ass off from the day he strapped on his first pair of cleats.  He's now played a major role in the offenses of two playoff caliber teams.  And McKnight has been garbage.  Lets face it.  Woodhead got cut because he wasn't a Tanny draft pick.  Period.  He never got a fair shake here.

In fairness to Rex, Woodhead was getting murdered in camp in blitz pickup drills against Bryan Thomas and Calvin Pace. It was uncomfortable to watch.

Woodhead is one of the reasons the Chargers are still alive and playing.

One of many reasons.  The primary reasons being a welcome change at HC, the resurgence of Rivers and Gates, and the emergence of Keenan Allen.  Woodhead is an RB2 and 3rd down back who plays the Edelman/Sproles/Pierre Thomas role.  He's a complimentary piece to an already great offense.

Yet some would have us believe that Woodhead would be the RB1 here.  No, he'd suck here, because we don't already have a good offense in place.  We have an offense in complete disarray.  We need RB's who can make plays independent of the rest of the offense.  Hence why Ivory and Powell were solid for us.  They're both good RUNNERS, not scatbacks.  If Woodhead were still here he'd either be buried on the depth chart or we'd be whining about why our starting back is a Hobbit who can't make plays without having a ton of space to maneuver.
