The Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers a few picks later.

Best part about it is a move-up was available from our spot. We traded the pick to Oakland, who used it to swap picks with Seattle. Al Davis then took Fabian Washington because of his obsession with 40 times. Rodgers was taken with the next pick.

But hey, we didn't need him since we had Pennington (coming off a rotator cuff injury). As opposed to the Packers, who only had Brett Favre.

So he wouldn't have been available if we stayed at our usual draft spot. We would only have gotten him if we traded up?

So what? Rodgers was available to whomever it was that held the #26 pick (the Raiders had no problem trading up from that slot to #23, the pick ahead of the Packers, for a 4th rounder).

Of course we didn't even bother to wait to see who'd be there. Bradway just had to have Doug Jolley lol. He made that trade a couple days before the draft even started, bonehead that he was.

The trade in a vacuum was dumb to begin with. Trading a 1st rounder for a TE?

It definitely shows that Macc's second draft wa better than his first, in terms of overall quality, and that first draft was still done with Bradway's scouts

IIRC we traded down a few spots for Doug Jolley. We did NOT trade a 1st rounder for Jolley though.

the best part is we had jolly for a year and he caught 29 passes and 1 TD

In 2005, Jolley was dealt from the Raiders to the Jets, with a 2nd round pick and two 6th round picks, for a 1st and 7th round pick. After a year in New York, he was traded from the Jets to Tampa Bay for a sixth round draft pick.

IIRC it was the value of a high 3rd rounder but it's easy enough to look up if you want to take a few minutes.

We did get back Oakland's mid-2nd rounder (which Bradway promptly used on a freaking kicker). :bag:
