It is amazing how you cannot make a single quantitative argument based on his play for not hiring him. You keep going to political nonsense. There is no football argument for not signing him to be a backup QB; people make claims that  he is mediocre...while less than mediocre QBs like Fitz and McCown and Blaine Gabbert and others are who not as good...by any and all measures... have jobs.

There are not 64 QBs better than Kaepernick. There aren't even 32 QBs better than Kaepernick. When this is pointed out, the "he's not signed because he's not a good enough QB" argument immediately goes to T-shirts and socks and other subjective political nonsense that we've all agreed to keep out of this forum.

If there is a FOOTBALL argument to be made against him, can someone...ANYONE...make it?

I never said he shouldn't be signed based on play, he's a mediocre QB in a league filled w/ them.  he is certainly good enough to play in this league but please keep making things up about what I said.

the football argument to be made against signing him is that he is a BACKUP QB in this league and brings an incredible amount of attention- we saw how that worked w/ tebow.  Obviously he is better than tebow but they are similar in that both are backup QBs demanding incredible attention which can hurt a team.

if he gets signed good for him, I am not against a team signing him as long as that team isn't my team.

16 TD's 4 Picks. He is focused.

here's the thing though.  he had good stats but it still didn't help his team win more than 3.  it kind of demonstrates that qbr's don't mean much and it takes more than just a qb for a team to succeed.  red ryder is a better qb and cincy didn't exactly do very well either.  if kap gets signed to most teams he'll be coming in as second string.  no team can afford the circus he brings for a back up qb.  mia may be able to tolerate it if he's the starter.  his stats were good enough so they could spin them up and at least keep the boo birds at bay for a couple of games.

he didn't help them win more than 1.  they were 1-11 w/ him starting. obviously the team isn't very good but #s when you are 1-11 and not leading your O to pts means very little to me.

in 10 starts(He barely played in another game he started) he led O to 19 PPG

In 5 starts w/ Gabbert they averaged 22.2 PPG

He has been saying since before the end of last season that he would stand for the National Anthem this year.....so what circus are you referring to?

Do you really think his gutless backing down will change this?

Well said. Stop wasting your time. The incredible amount of attention people hold on to is nothing more than what they "hold on to".

Jamal Adams can say he's willing to die on the field, everyone understood what he meant, but it was purposely made into a story...and everyone who knew what he meant still paid attention to it.

That's the social media/case study age we live in today. The sh*t is beyond stupid.

1-11, I don't care about garbage time stats.

he needs to speak on his behalf instead of floating stuff in the media.  I have no issue if a team decides to sign him, as long as it's not here I don't care.

Thos stats are better than Futz's stats. Kaepernick is better

yep, it's all made up.  no distractions at all w/ him.  just a fine QB who was 1-11 a year ago but he'd be a difference maker here:lol:

I am not a Fitz fan, Colin at his peak was a near great QB. the problem is that was a long time ago, the current Kaep sucks and is not worth the distraction he'd provide.

no politics talk here, that witchhunt has nothing to do w/ this discussion.

The NFL is an entertainment business.  You don't see Josh McCown bring negative attention to himself or taking controversial political decisions, or wearing Fidel Castro shirts in interviews.

it is a sliding scale, but for some players, like Ray Rice, their actions make them untouchable.  For Kaep, I do think he finds a home somewhere.

But for the team owned by Trump's Ambassador to the Court of St. James?  That may be out.

And for a team whose fan base is composed a large number of Cuban Americans?  Good luck with that.

But I would think many other teams would take him should the need arise.

The QBs who sat out took a calculated risk   There will be openings on teams that need a competent QB to play on a team that could compete for the playoffs, like the Vikings last year.

For the Jets, should one of the QBs get hurt, I don't know how much they invest in a replacement.  I think at that point they go for the tank and draft one or two next year.

Colin Kaepernick's girlfriend targets Ray Lewis and Steve Bisciotti on Twitter

Contact ReporterThe Baltimore Sun

Colin Kaepernick hasn’t publicly spoken about the possibility of signing with the Ravens as quarterback Joe Flacco misses time in training camp with a back injury.

The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback’s girlfriend, however, sent the franchise a message — specifically to Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti and former star linebacker Ray Lewis.

Nessa Diab, a nationally syndicated radio personality who has dated Kaepernick for about two years, posted to Twitter on Tuesday an image of Lewis embracing Bisciotti over a mirrored shot from a scene in “Django Unchained,” where a house slave, played by Samuel L. Jackson, hugs his racist master, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.
The tweet was likely a jab at the Ravens’ drawn-out publicity about whether to add Kaepernick after his national anthem protest last year and subsequent social justice activism.

This week, a report surfaced that Bisciotti, who said he was consulting Lewis and fans about the decision, was resistant to the coach John Harbaugh’s and general manager Ozzie Newsome’s interest in signing Kaepernick — which Newsome later refuted in a statement.

Lewis also posted a video to Twitter urging Kaepernick to “get back on the football field and let your play speak for itself.”

Perhaps that’s Kaepernick’s intention. Nessa, though, has other plans.

After tweeting the picture, captioned with a bulls-eye emoji and Lewis’ Twitter handle, she retweeted videos and articles denouncing his plea and supporting Kaepernick’s efforts.
