Jets Workouts

Aaron Wilson‏ @AaronWilson_NFL

Oklahoma and former Kentucky WR Jeff Badet (5-11 185) is working out for the Dolphins, Browns and Jets privately at school this week. 4.27 speed, 39.5 vertical, 10-11 broad and 16 bench reps.              Set for pre-draft visit with Vikings in April.

STRENGTHS

Returned kicks junior year at Kentucky and senior year at Oklahoma. Has good straight-line speed. Used on sweeps, reverses and catch and run plays this season. Has experience working down the field at Kentucky. Has explosive athletic qualities and should be a good tester in workouts.

WEAKNESSES

Never had many targets or receptions during his career. Hands are unsure. Long gear down for deep outs and comebacks. Not as shifty after the catch as expected. Needs room to operate. Skinny, fragile frame. Durability a major concern. Has had to leave multiple games due to injury. Missed 2014 with injury.

DRAFT PROJECTION

 FA

BOTTOM LINE

Badet is a better athlete than receiver and Oklahoma made attempts to get him involved with sweeps and run-after-catch plays. Badet has kick return experience but isn't considered a game-breaker in that area. Badet could test well and get the attention of NFL teams, but his tape doesn't offer enough.

From USC Pro Day via Draftanalyst

Linebacker Uchenna Nwosu had one of the better performances today that few are mentioning, in large part due to the Darnold hype.

Nwosu looked terrific in linebacker drills and impressed everyone on hand. He was highly sought after and since yesterday, Nwosu interviewed extensively with the Tennessee Titans, Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints.

The New York Jets, who had their general manager, head coach and linebackers coach on hand, wanted to meet with Nwosu but his schedule was booked solid and no room could be found.

This really says something about the linebacker, who participated at the Senior Bowl and combine and had interviews with teams at those events.

Center Nicholas Falah was also a popular guy. The big lineman, who deserved a combine invitation, looked good all day and interviewed with the New York Jets, Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers.

The Jets sent their linebacker coach across the country and the USC linebacker couldn’t pencil him in for a 15-minute meet and greet.

Sounds like a productive day.  I bet Maccagnan missed most of the Darnold workout too because once it started raining he fled to the car.

Why do you say that when the only pick the Jets are missing is their 2nd rounder .

For some reason I thought they didnt have their 4th and 5th pick either, forgot they got one from Dallas last draft.  Didnt realize they had a pick every round expect the 2nd.

Limestone WR Vyncint Smith @lwlssflwss has top 30 Jets visit April 9, works out for Dallas Cowboys privately at his school next week.

The player who had one of the best days at South Carolina’s Pro Day on Tuesday never played for the Gamecocks despite trying twice to join the team.

Vyncint Smith, a graduate of Westwood High School in Blythewood, ran a 4.36 40-yard dash in front of pro scouts in South Carolina’s indoor practice facility. That was the fastest time of the day by far and would have been the seventh-fastest time at the NFL Combine this year.

Smith, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver who played collegiately at Limestone, also had a 39.5-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-10 broad jump, both bests from the day.

“He had a fantastic workout,” South Carolina coach Will Muschamp said. “I wish he’d been a Gamecock.”

Jets traded their own 5th round pick for the CB from SF midseason.  However, they have Dallas ' 5th round pick from a trade last year.   4th round is original pick.

It's just typical of the Jets, especially under McGM and Bowels, to risk injury of a QB prospect by working him out during a TORRENTIAL downpour. This is sickening. They were probably hoping he got injured so as to free up the opportunity to draft their favorite defensive player (probably another safety lol!). God the Jets are like the stupidest, wooooooooooooooooooooooooeeeeee.

Is this intended to be an actual, serious thought or are you just joking around? Because, well, um....it doesn't sound like the sort of thing a thoughtful, sober, mature person would post.

No joke. The FO has shown a heavy bias towards defense and actively persecutes young QBs. It's hard to imagine any other intention but them hoping to injure Rosen. We remained doooooooooomed! Woooooooooooeeeeeeee!

Are you serious? Based on your above response seems you are.

Darnold’s pro day was in the rain. He had the chance to cancel but wanted to show he could throw in the rain

so how is throwing in the rain such a risk? Jets were out in so cal after attending darnolds pro day, had some time before going up to Allen’s pro day. Asked for a workout. Rosen’s reps were fine with it.

maybe next time they can order a crystal clear 75 degree day

some in this fanbase truly are the stupidest

It's pretty sickening you can't see through the Jets' act and even choose to defend. I submit that it is you that needs some help and is scary, you enabler.

Jets are bringing in Antonio Callaway for a workout.

It will be interesting to see where he ends up going...he might be the best WR in this draft.  He's that electric.  He was a probably a lock for the 1st.  I got a feeling he doesnt get past the 3rd, round which might make sense why the Jets are working him out.

Agreed.  Third round is a good spot for him.  Perfect risk/reward value there.  Not sure where his head is, but if he decides to do things right he could be an absolute steal.  You just don’t know with these guys though.

So we are going to have Josh Rosen throwing passes to Robby Anderson and Antonio Callaway ... this could go either great or criminally bad.

Yeah, who knows.  He's claiming that missing the season was the awakening he needed to get his head on straight.  He's saying all the right things, of course.  But he's a total wild card.

Elite athlete, insane talent though.

Dont worry, we have Terrelle Pryor to keep them all in line.

Josh Allen was the headliner at the recent Wyoming pro day but CB Rico Gafford opened eyes with a blazing 40 that was timed in the low 4.2s and as low as 4.19 by one scout. The Jets are among the teams working him out next week. pic.twitter.com/4i0NEJFo0P

Merrimack College tight end Dillon Silva (6-3, 252, 36-inch vertical), is a sleeper drawing interest from Patriots, Lions, Titans, Jets, Giants. Has a Texans connection: receivers coach John Perry is a former Merrimack head coach and has discussed him with his former co-workers

I like Campbell.  He checks all the boxes athletically.  11'+broad jump. 79" wingspan.  @Dcat took him at the top of the 7th for the Jets in the mock and I thought it was a great pick.

Where are Campbell’s times? NFL.com doesn’t have them. Granted, they suck.
