Draft opportunities were always there.

It's all about drafting on why this team sucks. How do you pass on Watson when you don't have a QB? Dalvin Cook was a player a lot of Jet fans wanted to draft. Jets might have had Nelson if not having to trade up after passing on Watson. Leonard was picked at their spot in Round #2. Mclaurin instead of Polite. The pass on Watson was turned into a very bad dominos result.

Obviously things aren't the same (overall records ect), but it truly is mind boggling how terrible Macc was & this really isn't hindsight, many, many, fans on this site were all over these players. Your not signing Bell, your not signing CJ Mosely.

JD has set us up for another chance over the next 2 years. Don't blow it JD.

I was all in for Cook but the great Big Macc went Safety, Safety that worked out well.

If the point is that it doesn't really matter where the Jets pick as much as it matters who is doing the picking, I agree with that.  Let's hope JD is the right guy.  You don't need the #1 pick to be successful or even to find a franchise QB.  We've seen Mahomes, Watson, Lamar Jackson and even Josh Allen have great success and NONE were taken Top 5.  Heck, even Herbert this year looks like the real deal.

Obviously, the higher you pick the better, but it's all about picking the right guy.  That's up to the GM who seems like he did well in the 1st round this past year, let's keep our hopes up.

Alex: JD selects 300 for sports memorabilia.  DING DING DING...The Daily Double. What are you going to do JD.

JD: I'm betting it all Alex.... $25,000.

Alex: Whhhooa Ok JD you riverboat gambler you. Here's your question.  Who is the worst team in NFL history'?

JD: Who are the 2020 NY Jets.

Alex: Uhhhh JD, the season isn't over yet. We'll have to review your answer with the judges..... Pum pum pa pum pum.  Well, regardless that the season is only half way through, the judges agree.  Correct!'

With that homage, I'll take 0-16 and Trevor.
