Winston Hill Enshrined As Member Of Pro Football Hall Of Fame | The New York Jets | NFL

Recommended Posts

To put things in perspective, during the 1968-9 season, Joe Namath was sacked a total of 9 times.  (This was told to me by John Schmidt, center on that team).

Winston Hill was a great player, a great team mate and conducted himself with class at all times.  Well deserved honor.  May he rest in peace.

When the Jets made history by signing Joe Namath (in those days the AFL and NFL competed for star college players and the NFL usually won), they surrounded him with an excellent offensive line, wide receivers, tight end and running backs.  The rest is history.

I am so happy for his family, but so disappointed that it took so long for him to be inducted into the HOF.

An 8 time pro bowl selection; I mean, what the hell is going on here?  Why wasn't he voted in many, many years before this?

Is it because he played for the Jets?  I don't understand it.
