Right now, the Jets have 5 healthy offensive linemen on the 53 man roster.  They have 3 healthy offensive linemen the practice squad.

Original Game 1 Starters Injured - 3

• Duane Brown T - Injured Reserve, could return soon (?)
• Alijah Vera-Tucker G - Out for the Season
• Connor McGovern C - Apparently Injured Seriously (Awaiting Official Word)

Backups Injured - 2

• Joe Tippmann G/C - Injured, not on injured reserve, could return soon (?)
• Wes Schweitzer G/C -  Apparently Injured Seriously (Awaiting Official Word)

I'll be your nutritionist.  I recommend a strict diet of Crisco. Five pound helpings four times a day.  And it must be eaten with a large, wooden spoon.

If I thought I could help this team make the playoffs I’d do that and for no money. We need some serious influx of interior olineman or its going to be over and over real fast. Wilson has toughed it out but the shortest distance between 2 points as we know is a straight line and if he can’t step up he is either going to eventually turn it over a whole lot or get hurt. We can’t afford either of those to occur.

If Tippman can't come back immediately, we have to trade for an interior OL, right?

Even if he does, we probably still have trade for someone, right?

Newman was promoted to the active roster for Sunday or he couldn't have played. 

McGovern had a cast, Schweitzer was walking with crutches, both very bad.

is brown ready?  seems like maybe tippmann can play next week.

It won’t be the first time a team has been this banged up on the oline.  Plenty of excuses here for failure.  But these guys are all in the nfl and should know a thing or two about how to play their position.  Newman may turn out okay.  The right guard may be a problem at least until brown comes back, week 9.  But if there’s a guy out there, Douglas needs to get on the phone.  I think the real resources need to be spent on another wr.

trystan colon would have been a perfect trade candidate but he just got injured in the Ravens loss

the fa pool is really dire most of these guys who retired did so for good reason (ben jones, Chase roullier) I.e. their bodies gave out on them 

garrett BRadbury is always on the outs in MIN but he also really sucks

prediction time: i think they let Xavier Newman play the spot until Tippmann recovers - he's kind of earned it with that spot with 1 second left  

and try to find another center to develop in the meantime

Rough stretch of injuries on the interior o-line there.

Props to Newman/Wilson for executing that snap to clock the ball at the end of the 4th. It didn't occur to me at the time they hadn't tried a non-shotgun snap since the first one that resulted in a fumble.
