Mac Jones and Trevor Lawrence.

Jones has better numbers because Lawrence really struggled his rookie season.  Jones has been on the decline and Lawrence has been on the rise.  Zach has neither declined nor risen, he's just sucked from day 1 and sucks now.

We would be comfortable with Jones and a great team with Lawrence.

Correct!

I just found it interesting how close their numbers are to date. You are right - mac is trending down. Trevor is trending upwards(ish)

EDIT:  Just for fun, Trevor Siemian's numbers (to all you non-believers):

58.9 completion %, 42 TD, 28 INT, 6.7 yards/attempt, 81.1 QB rating, 2.7 INT %

I personally wanted to keep Darnold in 2021 to either build a team for an eventual QB, or a distant second Darnold strive with talent around him.

After he was traded, I wanted Jones in the Draft.

However, after seeing what a batch Jones is, I'd rather the Jets never win a game.

Patriots won a game where Mac Jones completed 2 passes.

Jones' success early on was largely due to BB's ability to create a similar feel in offense to Alabama. However, once teams figured him out he got exposed for sucking.

Conversely, Trevor Lawrence got thrown into the 1-15 Jaguars with Urban Meyer distaster. Once Pederson came in he started to play better and show his true colors.

Coaching matters more than people think.

Trevor Lawrence not being that good is a bizarre non-story that should be a story.

I agree

He’s one of the most overrated players in the league, tbh

people talk about him like he’s a top 5 guy and he just hasn’t been that yet

Hey but it was totally worth it to win that one extra game in 2020 when we sucked donkey balls and I'm sure that one game will live in our hearts forever and it taught the Jets how to win!  So we got that +1 win and Sack Wilson.  Totally worth it.
