Been finding myself strumming this one a lot lately myself...

Love this song (but I guess I can say that for many GD songs).  This feels like a little bit different of a version than I'm used to.  Maybe a little slower and keyboard heavy?  Still great though.

P.S. Do you think it's too late to get that free breakfast from Uncle Bobo's?

Yeah it's the prominence of the organs for sure but I think it's sounds super cool.  Tempo might be notch slower too

The cool thing about the aughts is that in hindsight it was one of the top eras for indie music, and a lot of the notable groups from then are still plugging away. MGMT and Real Estate both dropped new ones last week, and I've been enjoying both quite a bit. Wild that Oracular Spectacular is slowly approaching 20 years old. Time really flies.

Looking back there was a cool magic of that era because it hit right before streaming services became the gold standard, and it was probably the last era of rock that you had to really hunt down new bands and albums for. There's a convenience to everything being so easy now, sure, but I miss having to work for it sometimes.

Oh yeah got it.  Didn’t know them as The Q.

Back in the early 2000s they Alman Bros did a few tours with the Phil and Friends and the The Dead.   Molo and Barraco were there, Jimmy and Warren playing with both bands at times as well as Derek Trucks, which was IMO where he really began to come into his own.  Not that he wasn’t great but in that setting for those years really pushed him.

Those were awesome tours.  Saw like 5 on each.  Rented an RV and did the southern leg.  It was rad.
