nj meadowlands
From cnnsi "Askew missed the last two games with an ankle sprain and the Bucs offense doesn't move without him. He's quietly developed into one of the best blocking backs in the NFL and is effective as a receiver as well." http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/0801/nfl.wildcard.weekend.xfactors/content.6.html

Scott Dierking
I never really saw teh blocking from askew, but he is a great receiver and hase very good hands. That was the reason he was drafted (to be an Anderson clone), dradted high, because that is and was a staple of the Hackett offense. I still can't believe the blocking aspect, and that is not what the Schotty offense is predicated upon-at least not when it is run properly. The Troll
I hate the Jets. I wonder if you compiled a team full of ex-Jets, if they would compete for a playoff berth. I think they would.
124
BJ Askew is a Michigan man. He knows how to get it done. He was a Running Back and a Fullback at Michigan so not only can he run the ball decently, but he had plenty of time blocking for some very good Michigan backs. He was never used as a blocking Fullback in New York, always going out for the reception ala Richie Anderson. If the Jets ran a power running game with hem, he would've been more successful and would still be in a Jet uniform today. Mangini prefers the Chris Cooley type H-Back. Ryno the Jet
I hate the Jets. I wonder if you compiled a team full of ex-Jets, if they would compete for a playoff berth. I think they would. Great idea; keep adding to the list: Coach: Bellychicken; hey he was coach for a day! OC: Hacket; the west coast bandit. DC: Henderson; I always liked Donnie. QB: Vinny; last chance anyone? FB: Askew; the sudden blocking ninja. TB: Jordan; could happen. WR: Moss; the one they call Santana. TE: Becht; you know you miss him. OT: Fabini; yeah, right. OG: Kendall; for Pete's sake! C: Mawae; still pullin' like a Mack Truck! OG: Moore; not bad for the other NY. DT: Furgeson; nasty when healthy. DE: Abe; for a game or two. LB: Farrior; no good for Jets, pro-bowler in Pitt? CB: Law; and the law won. CB: Glenn; WHOOP! FS: McGraw; from the cartoon, BOOM-SHALOCK-LOCK-BOOM! That's all I got; who am I missing?

124
Which is why he brought in Barnes and Tutt Tutt is a Brad Smith kind of guy. He infact was the 3rd string Running Back and played Special Teams. In terms of bringing in Barnes, looking back on it, I really don't know why they brought him. Since Week 1 they were using Kowalewski back there in the Chris Cooley TE playing FB type role. Who knows. All we know is Barnes didn't even last until December. 124
I hate the Jets. I wonder if you compiled a team full of ex-Jets, if they would compete for a playoff berth. I think they would. QB - Vinny Testaverde RB - LaMont Jordan FB - B.J. Askew WR1 - Santana Moss WR2 - TE - Kyle Brady / Anthony Becht (you're own choice here really) LT - Jason Fabini LG - Pete Kendall C - Kevin Mawae RG - Randy Thomas RT - Kareem McKenzie DE - John Abraham DT - Jason Ferguson DT - DE - OLB - MLB - James Farrior OLB - CB - Ty Law S - Atari Bigby S - Jon McGraw CB - Aaron Glenn This is really what I have so far. Anyone else care to add? The above is a 43 D, we could also do a 34 by moving Ferguson to NT, Farrior to ILB and Abraham to OLB.

Sperm Edwards
Derrick Ward would look pretty good splitting carries with Jordan on that team. If you want another safety in there, you can throw in Nick Ferguson who was at least a legit starter for a while. With the Jets he started 1 game in 3 seasons. In a few months, you can probably add DRob and Vilma to that list, along with Barrett & McCareins.
124
Updated: QB - Vinny Testaverde & Patrick Ramsey OR Brooks Bollinger RB - LaMont Jordan & Derrick Ward FB - B.J. Askew WR1 - Santana Moss WR2 - TE - Kyle Brady / Anthony Becht (you're own choice here really) LT - Jason Fabini LG - Pete Kendall C - Kevin Mawae RG - Randy Thomas RT - Kareem McKenzie DE - John Abraham DT - Jason Ferguson DT - James Reed DE - Kimo Von Oelhoffen OLB - Darrell McClover (I know, a Special Teams player but who else is going to fit in here?) MLB - James Farrior OLB - CB - Ty Law S - Atari Bigby S - Nick Ferguson (Thanks Sperm, totally forgot about Ferguson) CB - Aaron Glenn We still need a outside linebacker and a Wide Receiver.
