I don't see much of the US Media but from what I have seen Eli seems to take a lot of abuse. The Giants make more headlines than the Jets from what I gather but a lot of the time it's for the wrong reasons. For example last year when their locker room imploded the media were all over it. I hate the fact that we have to share a stadium, especially one named after another team, but I'd take that out more on the Jets rather than the Giants. I don't like Shockey too much but I don't mind Strahan. At least he actually backs up his words on the field. I hate players who talk but can't back it up (Shockey, Ryan Leaf, until recently Phillip Rivers) but I don't mind player who actually produce (Chad Johnsoon, TO, Strahan etc.). I just never really found any reason to 'hate' them. They aren't in our conference and very rarlely have an impact on the Jets season, that's primarily what I base my opinions on. However if they do win and it's a Giants/Patriots Super Bowl, I'm sorry but if your a Jets fan and actually root for the Patriots to go undefeated, you really can't call yourself a Jets fan. It comes down to cutting off your finger or cutting off your toe. Both are as painful as all hell, but you could probably accept one more than the other. Are we supposed to blame the Giants because they have a good front office and the Jets have sh*t for brains Tanenbaum and Mangini trading 2nd round pick for Thomas Jones and giving away Pete Kendall? I don't like the Giants and I think their fans are lame. Giants fans are a bunch of middle-aged quiet jerkoffs who live in boring quiet subrurban neighborhoods in Northern New Jersey and Westchester and have never had to deal with the torture us Jets fans have been subjected to. Giants fans are bad, but you don't realize what you'd deal with if the Patriots did go 19-0 and won another super bowl. It would be love fest galore for BB, Brady, and more for eternity. We hear Red Sox fans brag about one world series, now two, over 100 years, we hear the Pats brag about 3 super bowls.... The Pats are the new Cowboys with a ton of fans. All I know is Giants fans these days are more or less not found around the country. The Patriots front running fans are now what the 1990's cowboys fans were. Yeah they might disappear if the Pats start to stink, but look at the Cowboys.. Plenty of Cowboy fans came out of the woodworks this season... I just don't see that with Giants fans. There are few, but the Giants are rarely the national team people root for. While the Patriots "fans" were out in full force yesterday in Seattle. So were the Cowboys "fans" today. Maybe it would be different if I actually still lived in NY or NJ, but after traveling around the US for work over the past so many years, Giants fans are no where near as annoying as Patriot fans. I still won't root for the Giants next week or today, but there is no way in hell I'd root for the Patriots ever. That's the difference. There is not a chance in hell I'd ever root for the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, or Patriots. I wouldn't root for the Giants ever unless of course they played the Patriots. I dont know, maybe if we actually won something every once in a while we would get a little attention. But the Giants getting media attention instead of my Jets does not impact my enjoyment of the Jets. I get lots of info on the Jets and I dont need verbal fellatio from every media outlet to justify my fanaticism for the Jets. And for anyone to question someone's fanaticism for their team because they dont hate a particular team, especially one that isnt in our division, conference or is our rival is a joke. Im 100% Jets Fan. Always have. Always will. Im happy for my friends who are Giants fans. Am I running around in a Giants hat and T-Shirt? No. Am I jumping on the bandwagon? If the Giants win or lose I will still feel the same thing. Pats win and Im pissed. Pats lose Im going to be real happy.
