Mafia - Red Scare Game Thread

Are you holding something back. Your most recent posts have been concerning, implying you know more then the rest of us.

Maybe I do.

It occurs to me that a big hint is the name of the game, "Red Scare."

Scare. That's interesting. How do we know that the commies are the scum in this game? During the real Red Scare, the communists, or more accurately alleged communists weren't the real bad guys. The real bad guys were McCarthy and Roy Cohn and their ilk. The people in power were the true scum.

Maybe we're going at this all wrong. Maybe the reason the commies don't have the power to perform a night kill is because they don't really have any power at all and are actually patsies. Victims set up at the hands at the true threat.

Maybe the point of this game is to out those with the power roles.

I think at this point if this power is out there and being considered as a real threat then it's safe to say we perhaps play forward with the game and if the person who is lynched has the power, they do not use it. At this point there could be only one Mafia member, yes the "odds" are stacked against them but from day to night he could get 3 kills with a set-up, revenge kill and NK.

If all are in favor of proceeding playing as "normal" but agree to keep it in their pants I think that's the best course of action.

not a good idea

A little late to the party, but okay. Don't know if I'm interested in accepting any new members.

Truth.

Klecko, if you're a townie, and you have info you can share, you should share it. If you're the cop or the doc, maybe you should keep that to yourself for the time being, but anything else you should spill.

Probably not.

Maybe the people who are trying to force others to share info are the real menace.

Have I not been throwing you hints at this all game long ? Although at the end you get it wrong. Outing power roles does what klecko ? gets others killed ? not a good idea.

Some innocents are going to get killed. It's kind of unavoidable.

Remember, Doggin said to think outside the box. Maybe the win condition is to out to power roles BECAUSE the power roles are the scum.

I think you're trying to lump yourself in with a particular group of townies, but you're not one. In other words, I think you're lying.

Don't take it personal, though. And if you do have this power as you describe -and are a townie- by all means please tell Doggin that you'd prefer not to use it from your grave.

That's kind of a stupid reaction. If he does have that power maybe he was simply trying to get people to vote him out so he could use that power. In which case, his most likely victim would be the person leading the charge to lynch him.

Oh so vote for me, call me a liar (which I'm not) and then throw in a clause saying "oh dont' use it from the grave."

I think if YOU get me lynched I'll do whatever the hell I please.

I noticed that too but I'm backing off in fear that he has another role. If you could point out where he lumps himself in with a paticular group then I'll put my vote on him.

I have my own info. Part of it is that I know for certain that you don't know what the f^ck you're talking about.

Play and learn, you're in no position to lead.

What I'm saying is there is more then one person with that capability. If that is the case why don't you think of a set up that the "Red Scare" was built on paranoia and finger pointing???

You kill said townie revenge power. Townie retaliates and kills someone else. 2 dead townies. If there is a mafia or a SK or let's just call it a bad guy, they kill another one, 3 dead. Then you're at square one because what more do you know? Nothing, all that's left is people dead and the town at a serious disadvantage.

I think it'd be more intelligent to take heed to what it seems we've picked up from EY, JiF and CTM.

But go ahead, lynch me.

CTM posted this:

Ok, so now crusher also has a simliar role to Ey.

So how about this, who wasn't surprised that EY wasn't mod killed?

From my perspective we have atleast 3-4 players who i seemed to be suggesting they have the abiltiy EY described..

Then we have slats and jvor who have been much more measured in their comments, but I also believe the role EY alluded to was familiar to them as well..

That would make, on a conservative estimate, 1/2 the players being a 2 for 1 deal when killed..

In fact, the only players who truely seem clueless about this whole thing are Klecko and Pac - both of whom normally have their heads shoved so far up their own asses, that it's hard to tell if this means something other then they are both meatheads

To which Vic responded:

I'd say more then half.

I myself was surprised EY wasn't killed.

So yeah, I think he's lying.

Do what you like. I think you're scum. This post doesn't help to change my mind at all.

I can't wait for you to be dead wrong on this. You kinda ride on a high horse in these games. Hopefully this'll knock you down a bit and join us other "idiots not in position to be leading"

Funny how your making the same arguement I made a few days ago. Were still in the same position but with more posts to evaluate. Your looking pretty scummy right now but I just cant get it out of my head that there are no commies in this game I still have to be convinced of that. If that means voting to lynch someone to test the waters I guess Ill have to submit and do it since no one wants to "no lynch"

I could be, but you've given me the clearest indication I've gotten so far of someone lying about their role in this game.

For the record I think you have an idea of what you're doing, you just screwed up. But Klecko is beyond clueless pretending he knows something. He was gonna get my vote before your slip up. He should thank you.

Ok, how did I slip up? How about you consider the fact that perhaps some people have muzzles on them. All I did was agree with a statement, because I have plenty of reason to believe that what was said was true. Plenty of reason.

I think you're getting awfully defensive, not good that you seem to be attacking Slats and his style of play. He noticed that I noticed too, I wasn't convinced at first but your reaction has forced my vote onto you.

Basically I agree with Slats. You've demonstrated that you have no idea of the concept of this role that's currently being discussed which to me indicates you don't have it, yet your reaction to Slats pressure was:

"I think if YOU get me lynched I'll do whatever the hell I please."

It's almost like you're trying to convince you have the role when you clearly don't. You may have a variation of the role but I doubt it.

At worst, I think you're a safe lynch. I don't believe you can kill others when you're lynched, and if you were the cop you would've told us by now. :P

Those in the know, if I'm right, should be able to see pretty clearly where I believe you screwed up. I'm not going to point it out again. But I'm feeling pretty good about this vote.

Slats this tells me Vic has a role as well and he cant discuss said role./

Sure. Great. Just get 4 more and I'll be sure to cast the kill on myself. I'll report back then.

He tried to lump himself in with a specific role, one that he doesn't have.

I'm guessing right now that everyone in this game has something they're not allowed to talk about.

Ive felt that way for a long while. I think all the roles are similar with different restrictions on each player on weather they can reveal or not. I dont think Vic is trying to be something hes not hes just getting frustrated with the whole thing.
