Peter King is an ahole

Just heard King on the Collin Cowherd show, when he was asked about Mark Sanchez by Cowherd (a Sanchez lover) all King could say was how Sam Bradford had much better numbers than Sanchez. He later said that he judges a QB by how they do in the 4th quarter with the game on the line and that Sanchez has somehow been able to step up and make big throws so far. Very faint praise to say the least.

You don't think New England would beat Chicago? I do.

it's just a continuation of the typical patriots homerfest that is peter king. next season, when we're not down to 8 team, count how many patriots references there are in his articles. even when he's talking about other teams:

"the win by the vikings over the eagles this week reminds of the time the patriots..."

"the bears may not be the patriots but cutler had glimpses of brady-like-precision this week..."

I don't disagree with any of that, and I have no use for Peter King. I just think the ranking is about right.

He also wrote in his article how we completely outplayed and dominated them and our scheme was much better. Can you fans ever be happy with anything?

We've been to the AFC Championship game two years in a row now, when will the fans get rid of this ridiculous little man complex? Even the smallest comments get perceived as slights against our team or favoritism for others. Who cares? We're winning, be happy. I'm pretty sure I could list every single member of the media and some member here would find a reason they hate the Jets even if they are giving us praise. I heard a writer on Football Outsiders sum it up perfectly when he said "No matter how much praise you give the Jets it is never enough for their fan base to be happy."

I understand we sucked for years and the same old jets mentality but seriously the little man complex is a joke. When half the topics in these forums are about how media members are haters or assholes its kind of ridiculous.

good thing rex didn't tell his team to remove the chip from their shoulder before the pats game as you are seemingly suggesting now.

lecture fail

Thats great for the team and yeah it worked this week. But that has nothing to do with the fans and how they perceive everything in the media. You people take it as an attack if someone says anything critical.

Our success does not change the fact that other people are assholes.

where does chiding fellow fans for the way they root for their team fall into your defined pantheon of acceptable behavior? i just want to be sure i am following your fan rules before pointing out what a chump you are being.

thanks in advance.

Jets fans will always have the little man complex. Even when we win we'll still feel the world is against us. Its sad and pathetic, but its what our fan base is.

It gets better. He put Mccourty as one of the two CBs on his all-NFL team over Revis. He mentions this was because Revis wasn't 100% all season. Yet Palomalu made his team just fine. No bias there either.

But who gives a rat's a$$ about that? I'll tell you who...fans of teams who aren't in the playoffs. Thats' who!

Nevermind taking it a step further and looking at the entire picture and the multiple variables involved...like playing in a dome vs the new meadowlands, strength of schedule, their play in BIG games etc etc. Of course things can work against Sanchez as there is more talent around him... But god forbid one even takes those things into consideration. There's a reason Montana is considered the best of all time by many and it wasn't his stats alone.

I'm confident that a SuperBowl victory will be very therapeutic to our fan base. It will be like taking a shot of Prozac-Viagra-MultiVitamin-Red Bull all at once.

All will be right in the world... at least until training camp! B)

I know I just hope it will change cause its annoying as hell.

our fan base will change to "nobody respects us! We need respect!" And cry even harder when the media doesnt write glowing articles about the Jets and give us typewritten fellatio every article.

It will never be better. We will never feel love as a Jets fan. When we get love we will crave love from other places.

We'll feel great for a bit, and then right back to "nobody likes us or respects us!"

I guess i learned to stop caring what writers/analysts/sport jocks/news jerkoffs/ and fans of other teams think. I just enjoy my team and their success. I dont measure my fandom by how much "respect" is given to my team. I wish others would too.

Don't really want to add fuel to fire but here are the first 4 awards he's granting in today's article.

Awards

MVP: Tom Brady, QB, New England. Stopped being a race when Mike Vick had his non-factor final two weeks.

Coach: Bill Belichick, New England. Narrowly over Raheem Morris of the stunningly 10-6 Bucs, because Belichick oversaw the revamping of his offense with a great personnel and coaching job, winning 14 games.

Executive: Scott Pioli, GM, Kansas City. Again, narrowly over the Bucs' Mark Dominik, whose team played 13 rookies in winning games at season's end. But Pioli's draft (strong character players and impact rookies), and the Chiefs winning the AFC West, gave him the edge.

Offensive player: Tom Brady, QB, New England. Hard to beat out a guy with 36 touchdowns against only four interceptions.

he also picks mccourty over revis island. the evidence is in and he is a blind, biased, homer, ahole.

CB: Nnamdi Asomugha, Oakland; Devin McCourty, NE. McCourty makes it because Darrelle Revis was just OK for much of the middle part of the year because of his bad hammy, and because I thought Brandon Flowers had a so-so end of the year. Tramon Williams also very close here.

With all the trash talking the Jets do from Mon-Sat every week, I dont expect many people to like us. All I give a damn about is whether or not it works on sundays. If we get wins and get a ring... I could care less if every other person not a Jets fan in the nation cringes as we hoist the Lombardi...

Dont understand why we cant just be happy with the fact that we finally have a competent team that can compete with, and beat, anybody in the league. Dont see why everyone has to like us too for us to all be happy.
