If the pre-season is so important...

I think Sanchez should have some consideration. If it wasnt for his tard WR's dropping the ball last night he'd be completing 80% of his passes with only 1 pick. Pretty beastly, especially with us just now having some sort of answer at RT while our LG is still looking pretty suspect and the "ground and pound" game cant convert on 3rd and short AT ALL.

Wow that's really impressive. MVP candidate this season?

If the rushing game can pick it up and convert on 3rd and super short and the RT can continue to protect so Sanchez can finally throw down the field for 20 plus yards a clip to WR's who will decide to actually catch the ball.....

As the lottery man says: "Hey, you never know"!

Mark Sanchez had one reasonable *drive*, played the other night... (when the inc's were the WRs fault)

the pre season is a joke..it always has been, and always will be just an enhanced eval tool.

NO YOU ARE WRONG! The pre-season means everything!!!! We will never score a touchdown again!!!! Why can't we trade for future hall of famer Blaine Gabbert????

What's funny is for the first two preseason games in Denver, reports were Manning was at full speed, game speed, because he's rehabbing from injury while the players around him weren't. It took the team 3 games to catch up to Manning.

We can only hope that because our WRs haven't been out there all 3 games, and the starting OL was just assembled last week, that everyone else needs to catch up to Sanchez.

If you're right, this means that Stephen Hill may have a bright future ahead. Dude isn't up to NFL speed yet and still caught 5 balls on Sunday night. Yeah, that 1 drop was ugly, but at least he did it in a game that doesn't count.

Not sure what Santonio's excuse is. lol.

I agree with this statement. Hill will be awesome once he becomes accustomed to the team. He and Keller can be Mark's go to guys. Holmes played the Panthers game as if he was wearing a red jersey.

Does that mean Nick Foles is the best Quarterback in the league? Or do you guys prefer Chase Daniel? Blaine Gabbert and Trent Edwards are also worthy of some consideration.

Each team approaches preseason differently and with a different purpose for their QB. Most listed are the back up and Gabbert was awful last season and the Jags wanted to see how he developed.

Before we start blaming the WRs or lack thereof for the Jets lack of TD this preseason...consider another QB who was without his top 3 targets this preseason.

Romo doing fine with other Cowboys receivers

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The next game Tony Romo plays, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback expects to be throwing again to Miles Austin and Dez Bryant.

And hopefully Pro Bowl tight end Jason Witten too.

Yet Romo didn't seem bothered that his expected top three pass-catchers were standing on the sideline injured in his last preseason game. He did just fine throwing to Dwayne Harris, Kevin Ogletree and John Phillips.

"Tony is an outstanding player and he's done it with a lot of different kinds of guys. This is the third or fourth time we've turned the receivers over," coach Jason Garrett said. "He's someone who continues to play at a very high level. It's nice to see him play well and play in a good rhythm with the younger guys. He's worked very hard with the different cast of characters he's been playing with and they've been growing together."

Romo was 9-of-13 passing for 198 yards and two long touchdowns to Harris in a 20-19 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Saturday night. The Cowboys (No. 15 in the AP Pro32) scored 17 of their points in the three series Romo played in the first quarter.

There is a void to fill at the No. 3 receiver spot behind Austin and Bryant after Laurent Robinson had 11 TD catches last season and got a big free-agent deal from Jacksonville.

The absence of Austin (hamstring) and Bryant (right knee tendinitis) provided Harris and Ogletree more time with Romo and an extended chance to prove they can play.

"You get a feeling, you get a sensation you think is good, but what happens then is you've got to be able to go out and prove it," Romo said. "You've got to go out into the game and you've got to execute well. I thought our team did that. Our young guys knew what they were doing and it showed."

Harris, a sixth-round draft pick in 2011, got behind the secondary for a 61-yard TD and then split two defenders while finishing a 38-yard score. Ogletree, going into his fourth season, caught two passes from Romo for 40 yards.

Romo completed passes to six different players, including running backs DeMarco Murray (two for 16 yards) and Felix Jones (one for 14). Undrafted rookie Cole Beasley had a 19-yard catch.

"I thought all of them had the kind of games that will bode well for them when we're looking at where we are with our roster spots," owner Jerry Jones said. "Obviously the ones that were in there with the first group made some good plays for us and that was good to see, and good to see Tony having confidence in them, and getting the ball to them."

Phillips, the tight end filling in as the starter for Witten (lacerated spleen), had one catch for 10 yards. Phillips had a one-handed catch reversed on replay and then a 20-yard gain to the Rams 4 wiped out when he was called for offensive pass interference.

Harris finished with three catches overall for 118 yards, while Ogletree had five for 75 yards.

While most or all the young receivers will get more chances in the preseason finale Wednesday against Miami, Romo expects be standing on the sideline then.

The Cowboys had Sunday off, then their practice Monday will be the only one before the last preseason game. That game at home comes exactly a week before the regular season opener at the defending Super Bowl champion New York Giants.

Romo, going into his seventh season as the Dallas starter, is already focusing on that game.

"I do know I've been preparing for New York for a while," Romo said. "We'll just get back to studying on them and take it from there."

Dallas has been admittedly cautious with Austin, the two-time Pro Bowler who missed six games last season because of problems with both hamstrings. Bryant got hurt during a practice session with the San Diego Chargers last Monday, but like Austin is expected to be ready for the opener in New York.

Witten has missed one game in his career, because of a broken jaw as a rookie in 2003. He sustained a lacerated spleen after taking a hit in the preseason opener two weeks ago and his status for the opener is uncertain. The tight end is scheduled for another doctor visit Tuesday.

"We have to wait until Tuesday to get that update," Garrett said.

Notes: Pro Bowl nose tackle Jay Ratliff, who was held out of the first two preseason games because of a foot problem, injured his ankle in his preseason debut. The extent of the injury wasn't clear. "We're concerned about any of these (injuries) getting down where we're within 10 days of playing," Jones said. At the same time, Jones indicated he'd be surprised if Ratliff didn't play against the Dolphins. ... Garrett said Murray hurt his hand against the Rams, but it didn't force him out of the game. ... Safety Danny McCray said he was feeling OK after coming out of the game with a neck strain.

Why are Stephen, Santonio and Dustin "Hill, Holmes and Keller", but Sanchez is "Mark"?

Were you a Jet fan before the supermodel arrived? Will you be one after he is gone? I say doubtful on both counts.

Regarding Holmes.

There are studies that say the human body takes 2-3 weeks of playing football full-speed before it is ready to regularly endure the collisions experienced in a routine game without sustaining injury.

It is no surprise to me that so many players have gotten nicked up, and that players getting on the field for the first time all pre-season in week 3 were not seeking out collisions. With the limitations put on contact in training camp and practice, most of these guys aren't getting the hits they need before preseason games start, which is why they look timid, timing looks off, and frankly they are getting hurt on routine plays.

Holmes will be fine. He's a baller. For all the times he goes over the middle, it's the once in a while he pulls up that gets exaggerated by those with agendas against him. He's not my favorite human being, but he's not some alligator arms pussy either.

who the **** said preseason is SO IMPORTANT?? Huh? ****ing nobody thats who.

What the preseason HAS shown us is Sanchez still sucks at decision making and Teblow still sucks at throwing a football, even though we heard all offseason at how much better Jesus is now at throwing. What we have learned is that there is nothing on offense to get us excited about.

Now come week 1, all the losses and no td's will mean nothing. And coming out and whipping Buffalo doesnt mean our offense is good. We kicked KC and Jax last year and our season still collapsed in a heap of burning dog sh*t on the 50yd line of Woody's Palace. We all want the same thing? Right? WIN A ****ING SUPERBOWL. Winning a playoff game is sh*t. Losing 2 AFC championships is sh*t. The goal is win the whole ****ing thing. And as long as we have Sanchize and Teblow we will never make it there.

Thanks for the reminder. It's so easy to forget that the pre-season is crucial.

Did i say it was crucial?? Did anybody?? NO.

Can you learn lessons from it? Yes. Do you learn everything? No.

Why cant you see this? Why are you so blinded by whats right in front of you?? Oh.. thats right.... You have to be THAT GUY who sticks to whatever useless point youre trying to make. And thats what make this place suck. Too many like you.

Say what you want about Sanchez...but...he was the most impressive looking thing this preseason. Offensively, everything else was pretty much a train wreck for a ton of reasons that were out of our control. MOST OF IT had to do with the fact that we were injured and didn't have best offense out there...to make matters worse, we had Wayne Hunter in there. Those things are being worked out as we speak I think...

Really? How so? Because he went 10/10 on checkdowns and avoided the dreaded defensive lineman interception all pre-season?

I thought his passes look crisp...sharper than we've seen him. He didn't get a TD, but perhaps if he had his starting receiver corps out there he would have. 5 drops is downright inexcusable!
