Petty has some sick receivers to throw to.

Montgomery is a pretty good athlete and an awesome return guy but don't love his hands when I watch him. Think he's a guy you manufacture touches for and take shots deep with. Would guess he'll carve out a role at the pro level for a while, but there's a decent chance he's Ted Ginn-ish. Not coming off a good season either.

Montgomery reminds me of the kid TO coming into the NFL.  He needs a stern Hand but the kid is a talent.  If he didn't have these issues, he would be a high 1st but right now, he can be had in the late 2nd early to mid 3rd .

I'm officially intrigued by Bryce Petty.  Granted in the offense Baylor is running you don't know

if he can:

- Take snaps from under center

- How his footwork is on 3, 5, 7 step drops

- Can he read a defense and progress through his WR's

But he's an intriguing talent that reminds me of Jimmy Garrapolo that NE drafted last year:

- Extremely quick release

- Strong enough arm

- Accurate

And he's carving up a Mich St. defense that is very good with quite a few pro prospects

His receivers may be good, but the throws he's making in this game are big time ones. He's an intriguing midround prospect.

I don't want another QB from an Air Raid offense unless we have somebody in place and he doesn't need to see the field for awhile

Didn't mean it as a knock, just a comment.

Would love to see the Jets add another quality wide receiver this year. Helps a lot to have three guys who are threats - much harder for the defense to key in on somebody.

questionable Hands, isn't a pure WR but is used more in the specialist role. Doesn't run the whole route tree . Yada yada yada.   Kid is built, has speed and is a football player, something the Jets don't have a lot of.

I can see some of the issues with Petty. He sometimes throws off his back foot a little. Will occasionally throw up a 50-50 ball. Doesn't slide all that well in the pocket. I have seen him look past his first read on more than one occasion today though so idk if that knock on his is true. Still these things are correctable if he works hard enough. All of his issues are common to a spread QB and can be corrected.

Edit: I still would love him on the Jets next year. I think he does a ton of positive things.

Bryce Petty can certainly throw the ball.

Saw him flushed out of the pocket on that drive and use a pump fake.

Petty is putting on a show. He's throwing dimes, bombs all over the Michigan State D. he looks really really good!  Connor Cook on the other hand looks shaken not stirred.        NYJ Round 2 - QB Bryce Petty.

Agreed, Andy Dalton is not the goal at QB. But if we could get that type of production in

the regular season we would be a playoff team on a consistent basis

Too bad we don't have Rex running the D anymore. This D will take a couple of steps back. How many superstars do we see in the LBs or the secondary? Just an excellent DL, yet we were #6 I believe with a turd group of corners. Love it or hate it, only Rex can do that,

Mega Gronk. Lol. Seriously got to feel great for that kid he will remember that moment the rest of his life!

Did you see his family in the stands after he scored that TD?  Looks like they'll be dining and celebrating at McDonalds tonight!
