The deal should help ensure Rivers finishes his career with the only NFL team he's ever known. The contract includes $65 million in guaranteed money and locks up Rivers through his age-37 campaign. Rivers, 33, was owed a $15.75 million base salary entering the final year of his contract. Having spent the last two years under Mike McCoy, Rivers has become a different-style quarterback after beginning his career as a vertical-bomb specialist with Norv Turner.
