A scout is always looking for a find, and value and all that nonsense. There was no adult in the room to be devils advocate, to test whether Adams made sense given the alternatives. The problem was not admitting he made a massive mistake by drafting Hackenberg and then totally ignoring how bad he was during his rookie year. It was clear Hack wasn’t a viable answer at QB.
