Always exciting when they exhume the dessicated corpse of Gil Brandt to levy judgement on draft success and failure.

All 4 players were on every single draft sights top players, so it matters not they were also on Gil Brandt's. Cut the line from 150 to 100 players & the Jets draft is still da sh*t.

"Jim? Jimmy Harbaugh? We drafted four players from the Hot 100 last year. Who? Never mind who. They were in the Hot 100!"

So you're saying that the Jets team + Rodgers = Super Bowl?

You put Rodgers on the jets and they're a super bowl contender. You put him on just about any team and they're super bowl contenders..

The Packers roster just isn't very good.

No doofus, the term Source used was "high impact". I shouldn't have to explain that "impact" happens on the field. Safeties, if you look around the league, are some of the MOST impactful players in the league. Especially in the years that followed the rule changes to place emphasis on the passing game. Since those rule changes, you have consistently seen a trend of safeties playing a bigger role in IMPACTING the quality of defense around the league.

This span of time hasn't been long. So, you haven't seen positional valuation impacted much... yet. However, if you look at the marquee safeties around the league, you will see that there is a direct correlation between "high impact" players in the safety position, and franchises investing more in them. Most notably, Eric Berry just signed the most recent contract for a "high impact" safety, and it happens to be a record setting contract for a safety. So, the positional valuation is slowly catching up to the trends. This is how things are in the NFL though, the league doesn't always adjust to new trends all at once, or quickly.

All that being said, Source wasn't talking about positional value. If he had, I would have dispelled that notion too... as I just did now.

So, go flick your sub-navel skin flap until you think of the next most stupid thing ever.

This makes sense but I think most people forget Dumbledore WANTED Snape to kill him. It was the only way.

The point is we drafted what we needed & look to have gotten some solid players. Maye was rated very high by most people. We needed WRs to replace Smith & Decker who is way overpaid. Let the youth movement commence.

All for the youth movement. All for having solid players. Not so much for what appears to be a lack of coherent plan. Not so much for what looks to be an awful 2017 season and a bleak 2018 season.
