The group spent hours combing over every detail from the past two weeks. JC left the room to clear his mind.

 

"Good look for kdels"

 

"Bad look for Ape"

 

"Is Barry an idiot or is he just stupid?"

 

"ENOUGH!" Barry shouted, startling the room.

 

"I can't take it anymore!" he said. "No victory is worth this."

 

JC, his mind made up, returned from the room with his gun drawn, and fired -- not realizing that Barry had already pulled out his own gun and pointed it at his own head.

Barry, like I stated earlier.  If Ape wins, Ape wins.  My read between you two was him slightly more town.  I've lost before voting a player who I didn't want to lose to instead of just trusting my reads.  If we're wrong, we're wrong.  You can blame me.

The group stared at each other. Did they make a terrible mistake?

 

 

Starlight stepped forward and reached into Barry's bag and pulled out a lanyard.

 

 

"Well boys," she said. "At least its over."

 

 

She showed the ID to the rest of the group. And...

I was really hoping so. I didn't even realize JC had voted without bolding.

I was throwing a hail mary with the self vote. Don't know if it would have worked but got unlucky with the timing on the JC vote (I think).

I went back and forth a thousand times worrying I overpowered one side or the other, which I probably did, but in the end it came down to endgame so can't ask for much more than that.

 

Special thanks to, well, everyone, for keeping the anticipation going after the final lynch. I was cracking up typing out the final scene(s).

I counted it because a) in the rules I said votes didn't have to be bolded and b) it was pretty clear from the context of the rest of the post (i.e. letting kdels hammer) that it was intended to be an actual vote
