Fins also restructured his contract to a more team friendly deal, IIRC, where his ‘21 salary of $7.2M was converted to bonus reducing to a low base and the last 3 years left are not guaranteed. They shedded Lawson’s contract for McKinley’s, created more cap space by restructuring him, then cut him to take the hit now; all for merely swapping a 6th for a 7th rounder in 2022.
