(I get 7 weeks this year) Leaving Snoville April 1st and staying at the Stratosphere. I usually stay at the Palace Station but wanted to try something different this time since this is my 12th trip there. I travel a lot to hike when I go there so as long as the room is clean and a decent $$ I'm OK. I'll probably spend one nite in St. Georges , Utah after hitting Bryce and Zion so I don't mind leaving a $40 room empty. If I was paying $220 a nite at Mandalay Bay you'd bet your a$$ I'd hustle to get back and probably drive right off I15. The Stratosphere is perfect for what you're doing. I go up to the Stratobar on the very top for happy hour to take a break sometimes from losing money..it costs like $13 to go up the high speed elevators for 99 cent Bass ales..I will never go on those crazy rides up there though..the whole observation deck shakes when it's going..amusement rides 1,200 ft high isn't my opinion of fun. As for Vegas,I have to wait for the ''summer deals'' to come in from the casinos..I still have a freebie round trip flight coming from continental for something I had to cancel last fall..and I have 90,000 one pass miles..so it will be a free trip if you don't include my gambling budget. As for Vegas,I have to wait for the ''summer deals'' to come in from the casinos..I still have a freebie round trip flight coming from continental for something I had to cancel last fall..and I have 90,000 one pass miles..so it will be a free trip if you don't include my gambling budget. One year I went for a week just before Christmas and paid $256 for everything , RT air and 6 nites at the Palace Station. This year RT air only is costing me $506. Same here..the air prices went through the roof in 05, if I remember right. They wanted like $500-$600 for a flight leaving at 7:30am here(which is when I love to leave)..you get there and it's 10AM!,all day to play. Compared to $300 for a red eye.. I went to the Dominican Republic last year for the Super Bowl and roundtrip air cost me $308(CHEAP)and 6 nights at an all inclusive was $600..I had a lot of fun there. The all inclusive did not include top of the line booze..so I got 2 bottles of kettle one,grey goose vodka at duty free..me and my posse were bringing bottles down to the pool ever day,kind of like carrying a football.
