124
Holy ****! A reason to actually watch a Knicks game this year! Goodbye Larry Hughes, Jared Jeffries, Jordan Hill, and our 2012 1st round pick (unless its in Top 5, then we keep it). Sources: Knicks acquire McGrady By Marc Stein ESPN.com The Rockets, Kings and New York Knicks have agreed to terms that will expand the Houston-Sacramento deal into a three-way trade that lands Tracy McGrady with the Knicks, according to NBA front-office sources. The Knicks will acquire McGrady and Sergio Rodriguez from Sacramento, sources said. The Rockets get Kevin Martin, Jordan Hill and Jared Jeffries from New York and will have the right to swap first-round picks with New York in 2011 as well as take on New York's 2012 first-round pick. A source close to the negotiations told ESPN NBA Insider Chad Ford that the Knicks' pick is top-1 protected in 2011 and top-5 protected in 2012. Sacramento obtains Houston's Carl Landry and Joey Dorsey and New York's Larry Hughes.

124
The Knicks now have more than $35 million in cap freed up for next year, allowing them to offer TWO big contracts (most allowed is $17 million a year). Hell yeah!
dolphann4life
God the Knicks are such a pathetic franchise....I can't wait till 2010 FA and they don't get Lebron...Have fun with Joe Johnson, good player but wont take you anywhere.

shawn306
Now I ask this in all honesty. Why would anyone come and play for the Knicks as long as Dolan is running this franchise ? Marbury Francis Penny I hope McGrady works out for them. I just don't see anything good happening to this franchise until Dolan is out.

LOL...it's only a cap related move, no the knicks can sign 2 all star level free agents...it's n added bonus if Mcgrady actually plays and plays well as this will be his only stint with the Knicks. T0mShane
If they don't get LeBron than they will get Joe Johnson AND Chris Bosh. Joe Johnson, Bosh, David Lee, Gallinari and Wilson Chandler as a starting 5 with Duhon and Toney Douglas as the next two off the bench win you nothing, and they just burned all their draft picks for the foreseeable future. They are all in for LeBron or they're dead in the water, imo. I've also heard in a couple of places that LeBron is likely to sign a 3 year deal to stay in Cleveland and THEN make his move out of town after that deal expires (he'll be 28). That would absolutely pork the Knicks.

We'll see about that, I think that starting 5 you listed (Chandler would not start, BTW) could at least make the playoffs, and that's better than what we've been living with since Ewing left. JJ, Bosh, Gallo, Wilson and Tone is the best lineup could parade in the last 10 years, and will force our '11 and '12 pick to the 20 range where finding talent is rare. This isn't baseball or football where you got to have good drafts to field a good team -- this is a sport where 1 or 2 FA can make all the difference. Here are the two options for the knicks next year: If we get LeBron we're a perennial championship contender If we don't get LeBron we're a perennial playoff team. 2010 will be much better than the last 10 years of bullsh*t we've been forced to watch. Donnie was in the absolute right here giving up picks like he did.
