Cheaters can have a bad game but Jets Can't?

Not a Jets or Pats fan but an overall fan of the game and can't wait for this weekend!

One thing I do have to point out though about the title of this thread as well as some of the posts...I find it humorous that Jets fans are calling the Pats cheaters when we had "knee-gate" just a few weeks ago! Heck, at least the Pats didn't try and purposely, physically hurt players. Heck, the Jets proved themselves to be cheaters as well by using "extra" help during a play.

Huh?

The Pats admitted to cheating for 8 friggin' years dude.

The only thing that is guaranteed is the Pats o-line will not have any holding penalties called against them.

And a million will be called against the Jets.

I wonder if the Refs will be calling the illegal picks on the Pats and their receivers this time around.

there should be a club with an avatar designed by BG

You mean like this guy?

WR Braylon Edwards (from @DanWetzel)

"I remember what happened [Dec. 6 in a 45-3 Patriots win] but at the end of the day we know we're better than them. ... If they come at us with their press coverage or man-to-man they did at beginning of the game we'll take advantage of it this time."

You cant make this stuff up. Just wait until Rex gets his mouth in gear this week.

The NE defense has improved immensely as the season has gone on. I would be very concerned about the way Sanchez is throwing the ball. Passes, 3 feet high over its intended target would be of concern to me, but Im not a Jets fan.

Honestly, I'm in the maybe it was good he got the bad game outta of the way camp right now.

To be honest I think I'd actually be a whole lot more nervous if we actually beat the Pats twice this year. All the pressure is on them, and hopefully they DO remember how badly they beat us because it will be that much easier for them to overlook us.

Dude, listen to legendary Pats fan poster Pats fan stuck in Kansas hell. he knows the Pats can be beat on any day. your feeling of invincibility will be tested this weekend.

And Rex's mouth is so over played by now that it's becoming irrelevant. I dont think anybody listens to that sh*t anymore TBH.

BP the Legendary Lawman/Jets fan is back. The only thing missing is threat of my banishment for being a Troll.

I disagree on Rex's comments becoming irrelevant. Hes firing some zingers today. The national media is beginning to catch on and Vic Carruci penned a piece prior to the Indy game. Look for more media outside NY to get on board.

BTW, PFSIKH contemplated moving back here the last time we chatted.

Good luck to you and your team Jim, but the Pats are on a mission.

oh brother... sounds very familiar to 2007...

if you don't think we can beat you this week you are out of your mind. I agree, it's not likely, but we certainly have a chance..

What a playoff resume.

Did someone say playoff resume?

This guy wakes from a 10 year coma. He is an avid football fan and asks his friend what is the biggest thing to have happened in the NFL the last 10 years.

Friend: Well, the 2007 Patriots went 18 and 1, but ...

Guy: 18 and 1??? Wow!!! They must have been really good. Just curious, who did they lose the one game to?

Friend: The Giants. That's the point. They lost to the Giants in the SB after going 18 and 0.

Guy: Jesus!!! The Giants must have been really good too. How amny games did they lose during the season?

Friend: 7

Guy: Get the f#ck outta here! I don't believe it. That's the biggest choke job I have ever heard of.

Friend: You said you wanted to know the biggest thing to have happened in the NFL in the last ten years.

Guy: OK, OK, so what is the second biggest story in the NFL in the last ten years?

Friend: Well ... the Patriots were caught cheating.

Guy: Now just stop it. What the hell kind of a friend are you? I wake up from a 10 year coma and all I ask is what has happened with the sport I love and you break my balls with these outrageous stories...

100% all on Pats* here.

If the same "D" shows up this week NYJ have a good chance.

What do you think the line will be?

Im thinking around 9 points.

The only problem is that same "D" can show up but it's not going to be facing the same depleted offense run by one of the greatest choke artists of all time as it did in Indianapolis. Everyone can point to the first meeting but that was before Moss was shown the door and this offense transformed. There are so many offensive weapons right now it's ridiculous. Revis and Cromartie could completely take Welker and Branch out of the game but then who's going to cover Woodhead, Gronkowski and Hernandez? I don't think it's going to be a blowout but I look for our defense to take away the run game then Brady and company will put some serious pressure on Sanchez to try playing keepup with his arm and he's going to lose that battle 10 times out of 10. Sunday can't come soon enough.

Those TE's are too much. Pretty much spot on. I can't see us holding you under 24, our only hope is that our neophyte QB plays like he did in Chicago and we outscore you..

Well that rules out the coma.

So your saying no chance?

Like to get these things on record.

You know, just in case somthing like the Bills or Giants or Cleve game thingy happens.

I won't say no chance but I feel very confident. It would take a bunch of things falling perfectly into place for that to happen. I just don't think there is any way Belichick lets his guard down against Ryan. He said they didn't prepare for any team last week but I guarantee he had three seperate gameplans started for the three teams they would potentially face then Saturday night he was full bore Jets.

Shoot,I was hoping for a more cocky prediction. Would have been nicer when/if NYJ pull off the upset and you drop by afterwards. Thats the great part about being the underdog.

Agree with your NEP prep assessment.

If LT, Mark and the Jets D play as they did in week 2, the Jets stand a chance.

My worst fear is it comes down to Shane Graham. :(

You mean the same O that the Browns handled without a problem? That game showed that even the mighty Pats* offense can be stopped. I expect Rex/Pettine to come up with a master game plan for the D. There's no way Rex gets embarassed twice. Also, I say the Jets with an energized LT and Greene will run well against your D.

imo, pats and/or brady are going to need to be out of sync or something. I really think you play this game 10 times, they score 24 or more 9 of them... best chance imo, maybe sanchez keeps stalling drives at the 50 and we back em up a bunch of times

Make one play a drive.

Hold them to FGs like you did to Peyton.

The Packers did an excellent job against the Pats and short of a miraculous KO return and pick 6. The Patriots were held under 20.

Packs defense is better against you.. they have a rush and quick lb'ers.. i think they stand a great chance of beating you and that they'll be there waiting if you get there

Patriots got significantly better after their loss to the Browns.

Jets treaded water after being embarrassed by the Pats.

Neither blowout has an impact on the game sunday. All that matters is our coaching staff devises a gameplan that our players can execute better than the Pats coaching staff and players can execute theirs. Can it be done? Sure. Will it? unsure.gif

Jets lost their starting safety to injury the Friday before the Pats game. The defensive backfield was a dissaster and we blitzed like mad to compensate. It was ugly. We also had two punts shanked and Sanchez was awful.

Saturday night our safety play was better then it has been all year. We didn't blitz very much at all and were extremely patient. We took the middle of the field out something we haven't been able to do all year. The middle of the field was wide open for Brady in the Monday night game. We had no idea what we were doing.

That doesn't mean we will win or are a better team we aren't. If we get a good game out of Sanchez I believe we will be significantly better on D and this game could come down to turnovers and field position.

The Pats are playing at a very high level but I believe the Jets have stabalized things and the 2 weeks off for a very hot team may not be an advantage at all.

Why not have 6 and 9+ minute TD drives like they did against the Colts? Think it has to be the same concept, ground and pound and keep Cindy off of the field. They shouldn't have an issue running the ball, assuming the line plays like it has the last few weeks.

True, but the Patriots are far from invincible.

Is it hard to see the Patriots being gashed with their collection of DL? No. Keller always seems to do well against the Patriots. If Sanchez is not sailing any passes, the Patriots can stand toe to toe with the Pats. I can see a high scoring affair.

well, cause is suspect if the Jets spend the whole first half shooting themselves in the foot on offense, the score won't be 10-7

you don't say?

So what you're say it only the pats can beat the pats ;)

fwiw.. we can definitely move it and score on you, if sanchez plays like he did in chicago, I expect a good game with a decent amount of points and the outcome unknown till late..

House money game for me with the pressure on NE to win more so than us.

I want the win badly but won't be as devastated with a loss as I would have with the Colts game.

Brady is just unconcious right now so expectations on my part are tempered. If he does not come out of his zone the PATS will be nearly impossible to beat. Their game against GB gives some hope but as mentioned by others, GB has pass rush.

We have a punchers chance if Sanchez gives us a huge game.
