It really is unreal that the NFL would schedule that.

Pretty much the same thing as last year... save a few hours

Really not a big deal if you prepare right... Mangini was into all that weird strict scheduling stuff... Rex is a lot more flexible I think...,

The SUnday night/Thursady night thing is total and complete bullsh*t.

Add in 4 prime time home games, Christmas eve vs. the Giants (after being forced to play Thanksgiving night at home last year) and New Year's Day in Miami(which is just about an impossible travel day for msot fans), WE GOT PHVKCED SIDEWAYS.

THIS SCHEDULE BLOWS.

Sucks being a winning team... I wish they sucked and played all 1:00pm games on Sundays.

tough december line-up

kinda weird, it goes 2 home, 3 road, 2 home then a bye

then it alternates home/away the rest of the way

I like opening up with 2 home games

why a thursday game the week before turkey day ? jeesh.....

Prime time games suck. Home games on major holidays(and last year we got Halloween and Thanksgiving, so if you had family or little kids you blew that off) suck.I understand the calendar and the games have to be played. But getting stuck with another holiay game is crap.

Wouldn't have minded at all if that Saturday date with the Eagles was somehow a home date.

The fact Miami simply won't work for msot traveleing fans is alos compelte bullsh*t.

This schedule sucks a$$.

from the official site

"I think it's a great schedule," said Rex Ryan today after looking over the order of his team's opponents that was officially unveiled at 7 p.m. ET. "Obviously, we're excited about the entire season. We think it's going to be a great season for us."

For starters, the season is set to start on Sunday night, Sept. 11, at New Meadowlands Stadium against the Dallas Cowboys in a game that is sure to stoke the emotions.

"That stadium is going to be full of emotion and things like that, not only the people from the area but in the entire country," said Ryan. "The fact that it is 9/11 and we'll be in our stadium, that's really a huge deal for us, for sure."

For finishers, the Jets are scheduled to spend New Year's Day playing the Dolphins at Miami (which means New Year's Eve on South Beach for more than a few wearers of the green and white).

In between, there are more than a few fireworks to keep us all oohing and aahing for a few months until the schedule kicks off for real.

The Jets, for instance, are scheduled for the second consecutive season to play five primetime games. After the Cowboys opener, they will play Sunday night games at Baltimore (Oct. 2), home for New England (Nov. 13). Immediately after the Patriots game, they'll hurry up to play the Broncos at Denver on Nov. 17 — their fourth straight year playing on NFL Network on a Thursday night.

For their one Monday night bow this season, they'll take on the Dolphins at home on Oct. 17.

"The fact that we're playing five primetime games again, I think that really speaks volumes about our team, where our franchise is at, and how the league and everybody else in the league basically sees us the same way," Ryan said. "They know we're an elite team."

Then there's that aforementioned Jets-Giants game, which will be in a prominent platform — Saturday afternoon, Dec. 24, with the Jets the home team. It's the Green & White's fifth Christmas Eve day game (all but one Week 16 games this year are on the 24th) and only its second at home.

Consider also:

■ For the second straight season — and only the third in franchise history — the Jets are slated to open with two games at home. After Dallas, the Jacksonville Jaguars are next into NMS on Sept. 18.

■ The Jets play Games 3-5 away from the Meadowlands, at Oakland, Baltimore and New England, marking the first scheduled regular-season three-game road trip since the end of the 1982 season (although including playoff games, the Jets have played three in a row on the road in 2004, '09 and '10).

■ That Patriots game on Oct. 9 marks the first time in six seasons that the Jets will not open at home vs. their archrivals in the first two weeks of the season ;) . And that game also marks the start of the Green & White's all-important beefiest division stretch of the season, when they play five of seven games against AFC East foes. :o

Rex's bottom line: "It's a tough schedule but we look forward to the challenge."

4 and 3 before the bye would be.. solid??

With the rest of the schedule...Absolutely.

Romo and Rivers will ensure that SD/Dallas will be tough, New England and Baltimore will obviously be tough. We should win the other 3 games but you never take anything for granted.

3 losses from that group wouldn't be a disaster, assuming we can learn how to use a bye week we should go a run.

The Turkey Day game was BS... hated it... but was glad the JETS got to host it...

The whole travel to Miami thing... I like how others are looking at it as a chance to have fun...

It is all how you make the best out of things, you are being cynical.

Sun Sept 11th 8:20PM - VS Cowboys

Sun Sept 18th 1:00PM - VS Jags

Sun Sept 25th 4:05PM - AT Raiders

The good news is that Mark Sanchez won't see an NFL secondary in the first three weeks, as each of these teams couldn't stop the pass last year, and each of these teams are potentially going to get worse in the secondary next year. The Cowboys might lose Terrence Newman, and the Raiders already lost Nnamdi. This stretch will give Mark a chance to essentially play pitch-and-catch with whomever constitutes his receiving corps next season, and will let him get on the same page as any new additions. The only game that scares you is the Cowboys, because they can score, but you'd have to think Rex and Co. will be able to keep Tony Romo from going off on them.

WORTHLESS PREDICTION: W, W, W

Sun Oct 2nd 8:20PM - AT Ravens

Sun Oct 9th 4:15PM - AT Patriots

A brutal gauntlet here, as both the Ravens and the Pats will be fired up to see the Jets. Both teams have a ton to prove from last year, particularly the Pats, who will likely have a rebuilt defense going into next season. The Pats will be coming off of two scrimmages against the Bills and Raiders, so they should be in good shape for the Jets match-up, while the Ravens will be coming off of road games against the Titans and Rams. If the Jets can split these two, they'll have done well. Naturally, you'd like to see them go and slap the Pats around to ruin any momentum they may have built early on in the season.

WORTHLESS PREDICTION: L, W (LOSS to Ravens, WIN at Pats)

Mon Oct 17th 8:30PM - VS Dolphins

Sun Oct 23rd 1:00PM - VS Chargers

BYE WEEK

Sun Nov 6th 1:00PM - AT Bills

Another weak stretch here. There is no conceivable way that the Dolphins will be competitive this year. Sparano has already been emasculated in front of his team with the whole Jim Harbaugh debacle, and Sparano has already ruined Chad Henne with his ill-conceived Chad Pennington flirtation. Looking at the Chargers, they finished 9-7 last season and one wonders how long it will take before everyone tunes out Norv Turner altogether. Regardless, Rex has Norv's and Philip Rivers' number anyway.

WORTHLESS PREDICTION: W, W, W

Sun Nov 13th 8:20PM - VS Patriots

Thurs Nov 17th 8:20PM - AT Broncos

What looks like a sure split (at minimum) is actually pretty tough here, as the Jets will essentially have one full day of practice before they have to fly out to Denver to play against a John Fox defense on a Thursday. That ain't easy, especially after coming off another nationally-televised battle with the Pats. The hope is that the Broncos offense sucks so bad that the Jets D can carry them to a win. But, if Kyle Orton is giving them anything at the QB position, the Jets could very possibly be looking at a two-game losing streak here.

WORTHLESS PREDICTION: L, L

Sun Nov 27th 1:00PM - VS Bills

Sun Dec 4th 1:00PM - AT Redskins

Sun Dec 11th 1:00PM - VS Chiefs

The Bills will be in the Andrew Luck Sweepstakes all year, and the Redskins might not be far behind unless something miraculous happens with their QB situation. The Chiefs surprised a lot of people last year, but were only 3 and 5 on the road, including losses to the Raiders and Houston to go along with blowout losses to the Chargers and Denver.

WORTHLESS PREDICTION: W, W, W

Sun Dec 18th 4:15PM -AT Eagles

Sat Dec 24th 1:00PM - VS Giants

Brutal stretch through the NFC East here, with both the Eagles and the Giants chasing each other for the division. Both of these teams are going to come in and pound away at the Jets, which makes these two games scary not only in terms of wins and losses, but in terms of picking up late-season injuries. It'll be interesting to see if Tom Coughlin still has this Giants team under his thumb, or if the entire crew finally turns on him, with Antrel Rolle and Kenny Phillips leading the revolt. The Eagles game should just be fun to watch--Rex Ryan vs. Michael Vick will either be a great spectacle, or it'll be a nightmare for us as our unathletic front seven gets tooled by Vick up and down the field.

WORTHLESS PREDICTION: L, W (LOSE to Eagles, WIN over Giants)

Sun Jan 1st 1:00PM - AT Dolphins

Tony Sparano will not make it to this game as head coach. Whoever the interim replacement ends up being will already have his desk packed into a box and Jon Gruden will be stealing his pencils on the way in.

WORTHLESS PREDICTION: W

SEASON: 12-4, Home field throughout playoffs.

Just to provide some balance and fairness, the NFL is making the Giants travel to visit the Jets on Christmas Eve.

Once again a royal screwing for the Jets schedule- so many late night games- for peopple that have to work and get up early like myself and XMas eve- celebration with the family.

At a loss why the Jets went along with this. Personally I would give up my tickets becasue this schedule is retarded. It would be cheaper to scalp for the games I really like to see or any home playoff games(ha ha ha ha!). 4 night games and another on the worst travel holiday weekend of the year is a disgrace. It's a total bullsh*t F___ YOU to their fan base.

The price of success. My Pats have two - TWO - 1:00pm games this year. Christmas eve and New Years Day. Bleh.
