If Johnny Football is there at 18 he's a Jet.

If he's there at #18, Idzik will be tripping over people as he runs up to Goodell to make Johnny Jet official. The only way Johnny Jet drops to #18 is if he breaks his right arm, and even then, unless its compound, he still doesn't drop that far.

Nobody would've thought Geno was going to last till the 39th pick. He did. Crazy things have happened.

No it would take an arrest, probably.

If Manziel is there at 18 the Jets better stack up on picks and trade back.

I think if there were someone in the draft willing to give up significant picks for Manziel they would have done it before the Jets.  The Jets are one of the teams they would want to jump in front of

Tennessee at 10 is the last team that needs a QB before the Jets pick at 18. There's a really good chance one of the big four QBs (Bortles, Bridgewater, Carr, Manziel) slides, especially if there's a run on OTs and WRs early.

I like this type of optimism. I just hope its not CARR, although if it is CARR I would still be happy he's a JET.

This is most likely if ST. LOUIS is staying with Bradford. Fisher just gave him the old "He's our QB", which usually is the kiss of death.

If they're not going to extend Bradford, they should just go ahead and draft Bridgewater at 2. If Bradford puts it together, they can deal Bridgewater next year.

Carr is intriguing in that he's got a big arm, video game stats, and seems to be all business. There's some argument to be made that the pass-heavy system he played in left him vulnerable to constant pressure, and that's why he appeared skittish, but that's dicey. If he's there at 18, I'd take him and let him and Geno fight it out.

I agree. I was 100% behind CARR until the USC Bowl game, which made him look very poor when pressured. Artemusclyde contends his offensive line was Sieve like, so I am willing to cut him some slack. His ARM is without a doubt his best attribute. He has a rocket, and a very nice release. I would give him a shot if he was #18.

The Jets could offer the 18th pick to the Cards for their 20th pick and a 4th rounder. Basically tell them that they can have Manziel here if they give us their 20th pick and 4th rounder, but Manziel isnt passing the 18th pick in the draft. Either the Jets take him or the Cards do by giving a 4th rounder as well. I'd even take a 5th if they negotiate.

The Cards have 11 year vet Carson Palmer as their QB with Stanton and another nobody as the backup. They can play Palmer this year and develop Manziel or if Palmer fails at the job they know that they have Manziel to try out instead of the other two guys who are not going to get the job done. The Cards will at least consider the offer if presented.

So who are the Cards keeping Manziel away from?  The Fish?  They have their QB.  Nobody is going to believe that a team (the Jets) are going to trade a QB who they think can take the job away from the guy they drafted in the second round last year for a 4th.  If the Jets think that Manziel is their QB of the future a 4th isn't going to get it done.  If the Jets think Maziel is better then Smith (he is) they will take him

If the Cards  want Manziel, they'll jump in front of the Jets.  Once the Jets are on the clock it's to late

If not the cards, someone else can. It's not impossible for Manziel to fall to 18 and for the Jets to trade back. Its highly unlikely but possible. I put out a scenario. It doesn't have to make sense to anyone. W will ultimately see come May what happens.

I agree it's very possible for Manziel to fall to 18.  In a lot of ways he's like Smith was last year.  Some people have him going first in the draft, some people have him falling a long way.

As you said we'll  see what happens in May.

Like Smith last year? Are you kidding? In Smith's last game, the PINSTRIPE bowl, he was completely outplayed by RYAN NASSIB, he was dreadful and his stock plummeted. Manziel, in his last Bowl game threw for like 400 and single handidly willed his team to victory.

Please try to refrain from mentioning the NFL's LOWEST rated QB in the same post as Johnny Jet, because when Johnny Jet drops, it will be all the way to #4 or #5, not completely out of the 1st round with every NFL team passing on him (obviously rightly so with Smith).
