What do you expect? The team announced the deal. Nobody is saying they can't back out. They can. That is what "in principle" gets you. The Jets never submitted the paperwork to the league. All deals are in principle until that happens. There is a secure web portal that the teams use to view player contracts. The Jets did not do that. This is a MAJOR screw up. Tannenbaum and Denver agree in principle (verbal agreement). 2. Jets official Twitter and Facebook announce deal for Tebow. 3. Denver receives trade papers--written agreement. Trade papers specify no $5 mil clause will be honored. 4. Broncos refuse, release statement saying "Jets did not read contract." Deal is on the rocks. 5. Jacksonville allegedly in play. 6.
