Holmes out weeks...Jets not sure what the problem is

LOL. The problem there is that QB can't win games without WR AND RBs. That's where Greene 2.8 being utter garbage really bites the Jets in the ass. The spread option Tebow runs only works if there are, you know, real options. Defenses laugh now when he hands it off to Greene and with no WRs to throw to, they key off on Tebow.

Ya know what's funny, the only two teams that are averaging a worse ypc than us?? Are the Cardinals and Steelers, both who are 4-0 and 2-1. Yea, they have better WRs, but outside of Fitzy and Wallace, a lot of these other guys aren't world beaters. No matter how anyone slices it, this really is all on Sanchez. If he's not on the same page as his WRs than that's his job to get them all on the same page. Peyton has the timing down with his WRs to a tee and if these guys don't put in the time, their asses should be benched. If they aren't, that's on the coaching staff and ownership to not stand behind the face of their franchise. I'd be eager to see if it's judgement calls that Sanchez sees one thing and the receivers see something different, or if the receivers just don't know the play etc.

so any updates ?

shirley they must have had an mri by now

These types of injuries take time, plus he was flying down to florida to see a foot-specialist, so they have to wait for that to happen as well. Or they are just posturing and trying to look at potential trades/vulture off PS before they announce he's lost for the season and lose whatever little leverage they had. With the release of patrick turner, I have to imagine that's a good sign that Hill might be suiting up vs houston.

I know it's been lost in the sea of mockery, but Schilens was once a promising player who flashed potential, just could never stay healthy. He was targeted three times and caught all three passes for 45 yards. Yea, that doesn't say much, but when you only throw for a little over a 100 yards, it's not too bad. If he stays healthy, he could actually produce. That's his only limitation.

45 yards out of the 100 yards of offense. Schiliens is the passing game right now.

i know people aren't gonna want to hear the injury excuse but the Jets have been very unlucky in this regard.

We've been unsustainably lucky in terms of health for the last three years or so. The bad luck in play here is that the two guys who got injured are two of maybe six useful players on the entire squad. This is a management problem, not a luck problem.

The only people who know this with 100 % certainty is within the organization itself. No way you can tell who's messing up without the play call, the playbook and All 22 . I would love to know the answers to these burning questions.

So were the Giants during 2 SB runs. Much worse than us in fact

I haven't seen the MRI results but I can tell the Jets what the problem is. They gave 50 million dollars to a sociopath and then anointed said sociopath a leader. There's a reason why they're the Steelers and we're chanting for ****ing Tebow

Definitely agree on the first part, would feel different if we had pretty much any other QB in the league. If our QB was actually someone accurate, holmes would be putting up 1000+ yards, but since Sanchez isn't, he was a terrible signing. The second part I don't agree with. If Big Ben didn't go all rapey rapey on the bar chick, they don't let Holmes walk. Since they had to cut ties with one of them to save a little face, they went with the non-QB.

Steelers would have never given him the kind of money we did and Santonio has as many thousands yard seasons as Shonn Greene

Well, it's certainly no surprise that his last 1000 season directly precedes his partnering with sanchez. There's zero doubt that if he had pretty much any QB but Sanchez, he'd have multiple 1000 yard seasons. Point is moot, since he is stuck with us, but his awesome talent is wasted with us. Sanchez needs someone like nicks, fitzy and receivers who can make plays on poorly thrown balls. The contract with the steelers is debatable; prolly wouldn't have given him as much money, but doubt they let the superbowl MVP walk if they didn't need to save face in the PR move.

Breer's reporting Holmes is done for the year with a Lisfranc injury. This is really breaking perfectly for Mike Tannenbaum.

Losing your best offensive and defensive player in the first quarter of the season will almost guarantee anyone a redo year. The only trump card we have, is an extremely impulsive owner; we know what happened last time he wanted to make a splash.

IMO, Woody won't tolerate an empty stadium. He's gonna wake up November 7th and wonder why his key investment is bleeding cash.

All losing Holmes does is accelerate Tebow's starting.

You just know the Woody-rumor articles are gonna hit the wire full steam next Tues. Cimini gave it the old college try today but no doubt that sh*t is gonna multiply times a billion if Sanchez crashes and burns against Houston.

Looks like that's the way it's heading, especially with the reports from "people close to Woody." Tebow could be the only Quarterback that is worse at being a quarterback than sanchez, but if we're going to have someone complete under 50% of his passes, I'd rather go with Tebow. At least he doesn't pout, the kid is all heart, players can get behind that.

The Jets organization has always been rabbit-eared and hypersensitive to criticism, but it's gotten almost Dolanesque under Woody. Tebow, if nothing else, changes the narrative, especially if they set him up to start a winnable game coughColts.

I saw that Cimini piece. Dog-whistling at its finest.

Agreed. It's inconceivable to think that Sanchez and the passing game can get up off the mat at this point. If that's the case, may as well let Tebow have a crack at it. There's no way--NO way--there's anyone left in the organization who still believes that Sanchez will be on the roster in 2014 anyway.

Yeah but hes probably right about Woody having his hand in things now. I'm surprised he forgot that Woody was also supposedly the driving force between benching Chad in 2007 for Kellen Clemens. The feeling was why werent the football guys starting this kid with a bright future like the other teams in the league were doing since 2007 had become a waste. I actually thought that was more on Woody than Favre because I think Tannenbaum was a willing participant in Favres signing because he knew it would be a big deal for his resume to say he was the guy who went out and traded for Brett Favre. Tebow is entirely Woody and you can see from the way they use him the whole staff realizes he cant play in the NFL. Maybe when he does start hell pull off some miracles like he did in Denver, but there is absolutely no sense to using him the way they are now. Either he has to get half the series at the position or none at all. Woody is going to push for more time and I think they will give in.

2013 being what... him just staying cause the contract/cap, as a backup?

Contract. Jets totally screwed themselves over on that deal. I have no clue what they were thinking. They had every conceivable advantage to negotiate him down or out and they instead guaranteed 2 years. He has 0 trade value too.

When Sanchez gets benched for Tebow, that has to be it for Tannenbaum, right? The second Sanchez picks up a clipboard, his contract goes from onerous to radioactive. The empty stadium would just be icing on the cake at that point.

Would he become the most expensive backup-QB in NFL history??
