That's cool but you're not making selections come draft day and the guys that are, wont let him out of the 2nd round.

We'll see you might be right but that team is a whore who will instantly be my favorite to root against. Right or wrong. I realize every team has bad eggs. But this team will be metaphorically waiving it in my face.

I actually care. **** Joe Mixon. Hope he lands with Burger King.

No, he will land with another team in the NFL. Play against us in a playoff game 2  years from now, rush for 130  yards and knock us out of the playoffs. But that's OK because your sensitive feelings won't be hurt by having a "bad guy" on the Jets.

Not to try to change the subject but with everything that has happened with the Aaron Hernandez trial and suicide, do you think teams have been removing players off their boards?  I know the Joe Mixon thing is different but what about with Cook?  He seems to still be ranking high on boards and mocks even though there are concerns about his "entourage" or the company he keeps.

"The combine interviews and pre-draft visits are going to be very important for Dalvin Cook. There are some minor off-the-field concerns regarding Cook; not so much with his character, but the company he keeps. Cook is said to have an entourage that has some real thugs. These friends have teams worried that it could be dangerous for Cook to continue hanging around them. Teams are concerned that Cook drinks a heavy amount and could have some challenges with his focus from having multiple kids with multiple women. They think that leaving the state of Florida would be good for Cook's long-term career and could help him to focus on becoming a professional.

However, some team sources are worried the entourage will follow Cook wherever he goes, as that was the case at Florida State. Thus, it would help Cook to go to a team with established leadership in the locker room that can help steer him in the right direction." http://walterfootball.com/seniorbowl2017rumors4.php

I've heard a bunch of talking heads say some teams are more concerned with Cooks off the field problems then Mixons.

If it's not so hard then why the **** haven't the Jets had a game changer at RB since forever?

Because they haven't drafted one in a top 3 round since 2009 (Shonn Greene) and haven't drafted one at all in 4 years and that guy was Tommy Bohanon.

As far as Mixon is concerned there are running backs in this draft that are more or equally talented that will come at a cheaper round price and not nearly as much baggage. Hard pass.

Amen.  Risk/Reward arrow is aiming the wrong way for me on Mixon.   Changed my mind.  He's off my board entirely. After drafting him in a mock, I felt dirty.  <spit... rinse...repeat>

As the draft approaches, one of the most controversial prospect has a second past incident bubbling to the surface. However, the man who alleged that his daughter was struck by Joe Mixon in high school has since reversed course.

In a report read by the lawyer for the woman struck by Mixon in 2014 during her interview with police, Anthony Hernandez said, “I know for a fact he threw my daughter to the ground and hit her.” Hernandez, who made the claim originally on Facebook, thereafter recanted his claims with another Facebook post.

On March 30, 2017, Hernandez forwarded the text of the clarification to Mixon’s lawyer, Blake Johnson of Crowe & Dunlevy. On Wednesday morning, Blake Johnson forwarded the clarification to PFT.

“I have recently learned that a comment I made about Joe Mixon on social media a few years ago is now receiving a lot of attention. I want to explain that comment and clarify that I do not believe Joe ever did anything to hurt my daughter,” Hernandez wrote.

“My daughter went to Freedom High School with Joe, and they have been friends for much of their lives. Once, when they were in school together, my daughter had a minor disagreement with some of her classmates that got blown out of proportion. Like any father would, I reacted emotionally. Unfortunately, I did so before I had all the facts. Now, having talked to my daughter and investigated the whole story, I realize that I was mistaken about Joe’s involvement. I definitely overreacted, and I regret that my words might have given some people the wrong impression about Joe. I know that Joe did not hurt my daughter, did not intend to, and would not do so.

“Joe and my daughter are still good friends. Joe is a great kid with a bright future in front of him, and he is welcome in my home anytime.

“My family and I value our privacy. I hope that my statement puts this matter to rest. We will not respond to further media inquiries about this.”

Blake Johnson also told PFT that he “spoke to multiple administrative officials at Freedom High School who assured me that no such incident ever took place there,” and that Mixon’s disciplinary record from high school reveals no such incident.

“Norman Police also ran Joe’s juvenile record with law enforcement in California and they had no record of any such report or incident (or any other criminal incident on part of Joe),” Johnson said via email. “I’m fairly confident that the incident described in Mr. Hernandez’s original [Facebook] post did not happen.”

Hmmmmm.  So Joe's gone from an entitled Ass H, to good ole Joe, my daughters best bud.

Ca-ching $$$$

Joe Mixon - RB -  Player

Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon allegedly punched a female while in high school.

The allegation comes from Anthony Hernandez, who says for a "fact" that Mixon hit his daughter when the two were in high school. "He threw my daughter to the ground and hit her," Hernandez said. "I went to the school and they hid him in the office. He got no punishment. The police even came. I was escorted off the campus as if I did something wrong. These are simply the facts, he's a woman beater." Longtime personnel man Gil Brandt said this incident is of concern among NFL teams, in addition to the video of Mixon laying out a girl with a punch while at Oklahoma. Mixon could be drafted anywhere from Day 2 to being an UDFA.

hmm...another hernandez. is this one in prison too? you know it stinks that a pos like mixon is going to be a weathy pos in less than a month but some team will draft him and he might even be a pretty exciting player to watch for a few seasons.  should the jets draft him?  no telling but when the patsies going around drafting murderers and crazy people and have a team riddled with drug dealers it just makes one wonder.

First round picks are too valuable.  Their guaranteed compensation is too high.

Second round or lower for Mixon.  But he will get drafted.

I agree that other players could be bigger issues.   Rather than hanging with an entourage, he has probably been locked down for 2 years.

I am more comfortable with Mixon locked down than Cook and his entourage.

Someone that realizes that many NFL players are animals that do really bad things. Some get caught, some don't.   If he is allowed to be drafted, it is foolish to pass on him and let one of your competitors take him. If the NFL banned him from the league, I wouldn't care. But when teams like the Chiefs steal a kid like Tyereke Hill, we are drafting backups and finishing in last place.

No, we've gone through this discussion before. And I'm not opposed to an innocent man defending himself if attacked by a violent women.

But i watched the tape, I read on the different back stories, I've seen his history and I'm saying **** Joe Mixon.

yes I personally think hitting a woman or child is very different than hitting another man.

A cell just opened up in Massachusetts.....

How anyone can defend this POS is beyond comprehension. "Ooooh he is just soooo extremely talented at playing a child's game.  By all means....let's give him the platform and opportunity he so richly deserves."

I hope this scumbag fails miserably and/or gets hit by a bus. Though if he does make it, I hope he wears pink head to toe in October just to spotlight how full of sh*t the NFL is with regard to how they market to women.

I just read the SI article on Tyreek Hill.  Honestly, I was ignorant as to what went on there.

He beat and choked his pregnant girlfriend, not a stranger, in 2014.  He received a 3 year probation sentence.  He was thrown out of Oklahoma State.    He has been incident free for 3 years.

He was drafted by the Chiefs in the 5th round, made the Pro Bowl as a rookie and contributed to their 12-4 record.

Part of the issue with Aaron Hernandez is that he was coddled and protected and never confronted about the life he was living.  BB knew what he let on his team.  That sounds more like Dalvin Cook.  Our "correctional" system, and the bible for many of us, all speak of forgiveness and redemption for those that are worthy.

If a player serves his punishment and is living like he is supposed to be living, he deserves a second chance.  For those that disagree, I don't know whether the Jets have the nerve in the NY area to bring him on board, so you don't have to worry about that.  But he will be on a team and contribute positively.  The Jets need a productive RB picked in a lower round.

But I feel better about Hill and Mixon than someone like ASJ who drives drunk 2x, even if the incidents were spread out.  That is serious stuff.  He could have killed somebody.

There is always a chance of relapse, but a team that does their diligence should know if a player is living a life like they are supposed to.

I mean, is this really the side of the argument you want to be on, that it's not that big a deal to punch a woman?  Because, gender equality?

If I'm writing the checks, I'd focus on my team doing a better job of drafting and identifying talent so that we wouldn't need to feel like we're missing out by passing on a guy who's got a pretty strong chance of making me and my organization look bad.  32 NFL owners thus far decided not to write a check to a guy who decided to quietly sit down during a song.  If someone else wants to write a check to a guy who punched a woman in the face on video, that's their prerogative, but he wouldn't get my money and wear my uniform.

I think there's definitely a big difference between the player who made a mistake, even if horrific vs. the scumbag. Teams know more than we do. Yes I believe in giving second chances under certain circumstances, no I don't want some piece of sh*t low life on the team I root for. There is a difference. We all know it. Each situation is different. Too many times strongman arguments are made in these situations. One and another are never the same. In this certain instance I'm going to say, **** Joe Mixon.

Women need to keep their hands to themselves and stop provoking/initiating violence. I don't agree with Mixon's method of retaliation but I'm getting tired of hearing about women putting themselves in situations like this by hitting men then being treated like some victim who did nothing to deserve this.

Either you're equal or your a woman who needs to be treated with that level of respect. You start laying hands on men (showing no respect to them as men) then don't expect everyone to respond the same to these types of stories.

Be a lady if that is what you are. Stop hitting these dudes, and respect him as a man the way he should respect you as a woman. If he's there on day 3 the jets better draft him.
