A little help with a - How many in this container-type of contest

I want to win a contest : guess under and close to the  amount..how many in this container. (dont guess over)

its electric football bases. 1 inch long (slightly under maybe), half inch wide, maybe a 4th tall.

i'm thinking about 1,500 right now.. or 3000 lol.. that has to be too much. dont know dimensions of canister. probably cant ask...?

Me not smart at math, but I would think you'd need the dimensions of the container (and it looks like it tapers a bit toward the bottom) as well as a rough estimate of the average height of the pile of bases in the container for the best guess possible. Can you find any of that out?
