Thanks Nostradamus, but there is still ZERO reason for a team tanking to trade away draft picks for players mid-season. It's completely nonsensical. We need to accumulate draft picks and not players, even if they are "decent" who are that much closer to free agency.

So if JD given the opportunity to improve this roster this season by making a great deal and stealing a player for nothing he doesn't do it. 

Let's say for conversation purposes the Steelers offer him Ju-Ju for a 4th round pick and he agrees to sign a longterm deal JD should pass on this.

No he isn't... He's under contract through 2021.

Not sure we're keeping him at $10.5mm, but he's under contract.
