I'm not sure, they kept it in-house but apparently he was warned and crossed the line again, which was the last straw. He had troubles in juniors and Phoenix as well. It's telling that nobody else wanted him, coming off a year where he got Norris trophy votes. I really hope they can move him or at the very least get him off the salary cap. EM31 Posted April 13, 2021 Share Posted April 13, 2021 The Devils are a good team who are capable of skating with pretty much anyone in the league and yet the other teams above us have consistently found a way to pocket two points against them more often than not. This strange four game stretch against one team is a gut check for the Rangers. The Devils are loose, they have nothing to lose and if we just go out and get ourselves into a wild shootout game against them then that has a good chance of not ending well for us. Are we serious about making a run at the 4th and final playoff spot or are we just OK being an up and coming team who may or may not turn into a serious contender two or three years from now? I agree we are an impressive team at times. Just ask the Islanders after this recent two game stretch. My concern and frustration comes from the inconsistency and lack of attention to detail on some nights. Spotting the other team a one or two goal lead early in games. Giving up a late one at the end of periods or not making the simple play to get out of the defensive zone leading to protracted ice time and frequently goals as a result. Maybe it is a coaching thing and Quinn does not have this team ready to play on some nights. Good teams find a way to fake it until they make it. The last 2 games Rangers have are wiyh Bruins.... but then Bruins play Isles & Caps to close out the season. It's going to be a dog fight to the end. The problem is not knowing which games are going to be 7-0 in advance because of who is and who is not dressed to play that night.
