On paper, UConn should breeze through tonight's game against SJU. We beat them twice already this year including last month at MSG, and both times we were missing a key starter. This time we're full strength.

Still, we've lost three games this year, and we were the better team in all three. So there's always the chance of a letdown - and with a great coach like Pitino on the other side, chances of a letdown go up.

NC State HC Kevin Keatts used to be the HC at UNCW so there's a connection there.  He left after just 3 seasons so its hard for me to root for him though, lol.

The current HC at UNCW was on Keatts' bench at NC State as well (Takayo Siddle).

How the F**K did Michigan St get in?

Heading to Omaha on Thursday.  This will be about the 4th or 5th time my son and I are headed to a first round quadruple header.  And we have never seen an upset or even a tight game in that goes down to the wire.  We are hoping this is finally the year:

• BYU-Duquesne
• Illinois-Morehead State
• Washington State-Drake
• Iowa State - S Dakota St

I wonder if a certain failed NFL QB will be in attendance for game 1.

But if you look at the brackets, the East is ridiculously the hardest.  Huskies got hosed compared to Midwest where they are practically giving Purdue a free ride to the final 4.  Just horrible bracketology this year.  Big East all around got hosed.  And so did MWC, which was very good this year.

And of course UConn's AD and the BE commissioner are nowhere to be found in all of this. No statements, no letters, no tweets. Big12 and SEC commissioners spent the last three weeks campaigning and they got 14 teams in. The ******* mountain west conference got 6! Last year the ACC commissioner was upset so this year the committee put in Virginia? Over teams like St Johns and Seton Hall who were holding their own in multiple games all season and in the BE tourney against tourney 1/2/3 seeds in UConn, Marquette and Creighton? 

UConn got two of last year's final four (FAU, SDSU) and three conference winners including the team that took down the season ending #1. According to Kenpom, the east bracket has the best 1, 2, 3, and 4 seeds and the most top 10 regular season teams. We have far and away the hardest bracket with a total kenpom of 20. The second hardest bracket is more than double at 41. Meanwhile, McKullar was announced out for the entire tourney a day after selection sunday, which means that kansas knew about it and played the committee to get the 4. Another break for Purdue.

And not for nothing, but last year we ended the season #7 and were expecting to be a 2 in the tourney. They dropped us all the way down to 4. We proved we were far and away better than the seed with an average margin of victory of 20. So what? Now this year they're forced to give us the overall 1, but punish us for their ****up by deliberately giving us the hardest bracket? 

Whatever. **** them. We're better than every single team. I've been let down by Danny in the past, and we have three losses this year so it's obviously not a runaway. The tourney is madness for a reason, but if we can keep moving on offense and lock down against opponent 3s, we absolutely should be repeating. It'll be a huge bust if Clingan and co. aren't holding the trophy in Glendale 3 weeks from now.

That's depends on the size of someone's bankroll.  People use the phrase because the actual amount is irrelevant in risk/reward analysis.  I've got some friends whose units are double mine or more.  Size doesn't matter. And unit size can change depending on the sport.  For me, a unit in MLB is about half of what it is in the NFL.    CBB is in-between.  A Taco bet is about a $20-25 "why not?" side bet.

A lot of the youtube professional (note the adjective) handicappers use $300 as their unit standard. Mine is under 100 in the 50-100 range depending on the sport and my bankroll size. I'd say the average is around 70.  I do not bet my eating money.  Rest assured.  I'm retired with a side job.  This is my fun safe alternative to casinos and poker.  Poker can be crazy. Not for me at this stage of my life.  Let that stuff go a long long time ago when 3 kids emerged into my life.  And I hate smokey casinos, so there you go. 

I've loved sports my whole life and I like to bet.  Now it's legal and easy.   I was never a "bookie" type of guy so I didn't bet until it was legal.  Analogous to weed dispensaries.  Circa mid 1970's: 16 years old....  hiding from the NYC cops and associated paranoia in buying a nickel bag from some a$$hole who dropped out of my high school.  Zoom forward to the present:  65 yrs old...  walk into the neighborhood dispensary and pick my buds and tip my budtender.  Life is good.
