Reddick Holdout Over

So we get more than half a season of high level pass rush and it cost us a 3rd round pick and we will receive a 3rd round comp pick when he signs with another team next year.

There is no guarantee they will get a comp pick. They aren’t getting one for Huff because they had to sign Kinlaw and yes a 3rd round pick for a half season rental is trash.

he gave in and is playing on the same deal he always had. Jets gave up nothing.

edit: this isn't true. Additional info came out after this post. Reddick now has incentives to earn back missed pay.

Keeping Saleh, not addressing the potential kicker issue stemming from training camp and getting Reddick in here on time has likely done the season in. They should have still been better than 2-4 with this team even with those things happening.
 

Realistically, tonight’s game will make or break this season and waiting for year 3 of this “all-in” debacle is going to suck and just prolong this blue balling. To have a “Super Bowl caliber” team and fail miserably the first 2 seasons is really bizarre. We are on track for that.

So looks like he’s reporting under his current deal and we’ve waived his fines (not sure how that works bc I thought it goes to the league from him and never touches our hands and can’t be waived). But maybe there’s a loophole there.

 

If I understand this correctly he was 1yr 14mill. And will have missed 7 games. So we cash wise only have to pay him 10 game checks if I’ve read this correctly. But the cap hit I believe is still the same.

They are both desperate in this case. Probably equally desperate for different reasons. The sense of urgency just aligned with how late in the season they got already and where they are both currently at. It’s a no brainer for both sides at this point.

Hopefully he’s in shape. If we can have him in next week in at least pass rush situations to partner with Mac who’s become a premium pass rusher himself. QBs aren’t going to be happy.

 

We had 7 sacks against NE with Maye barely playing and no Reddick. Have to think the DL would be pumped for this one.

Joe Douglas is 30 games under .500. Any random human being or robot could do the same.

Douglas will get hired by an owner that knows how to run a business and doesn’t impulsively meddle in football decisions. We’ll be back to the Idzics and Maccagnans of the football world.
