Was getting a scum vibe from Dan at first but she has alleviated that recently although this Verbal business is still weird. She is a hard one to read. Will need to watch her closely. I think this whole discussion about the items and whether we should discuss them yet is kinda useless and overblown tbh. Freakin sucks that Russell Martin just went yard. Actually, I would think the scum players would know more than the town players at this point regarding the items, since there are apparently rules in place for them not to be able to abuse them, and JVOR may have already given them those rules. I just thought about this and was coming to post something similar. The fewer people who get it probably just means the less there might be to get, I suppose. Still, see no benefit to discussing items that have yet to be distributed. "No benefit" makes sense to me, I agree that there isn't a ton to gain from making guesses about it ... what I was saying was I understand why someone might be curious and using it as a starting point to get the game moving. Like I said, having watched the show, there are a million different things JVoR could have chosen to include in the game, so we really have no idea what he picked. What I didn't understand is the freaking out as if Pac was suddenly going to learn crucial information to screw over the town. It's not silly, just saying I agree with slats. Not even sure if it's for the same reason You said I was missing an important game mechanic. That's very different from simply agreeing that speculating isn't too helpful to the town. I can't really think of any benefits for a townie outside of trying to get the game going (which Pac certainly could've been doing - although his edit "and grandstanding" caught my attention). I think, based on re-read, that there are maybe 8 people or so starting to settle in and take the game serious... everyone else is bullsh*tting. So the ever-competent Pac just FOSed 11-12 people? Are we seriously scum-hunting on day 1. Just run a train up on someone so they can reveal, then we can do it again, and again. And then we can make a decision. Yeah, you got me, I can barely control myself over here... I said it was of "no benefit," in my first response on the subject to you. I also said that I could see that Pac was potentially trying to get the game moving. I understand that concept. That's why I voted him. Often scum are more interested than town in getting the game moving around here. Plus, I'm always expected to have a reason when I vote. If I had it all to do over again, I might change my name to slatsstation and just post like a lunatic until endgame - but I missed my chance. I'm going to spell out my own ideas here now, because talking about not talking about these future items has become a bigger issue than talking about them... I played a game on MJ where there were a ton of items. Everyone -scum or town- could use the items, but each item was geared to a single player who could do more once they obtained their own item. So my thinking was that if there were individuals who had item-centric roles, scum would be interested in finding out who they were. Or maybe getting some idea of what the items might be, or what they might do. How would scum know about this? Maybe if they had an item-centric role as a member of their team. It was just a thought, not a freak out. But as I said originally; I saw no benefit to discuss it as town, only a possible potential benefit to scum.
