nj meadowlands
If both teams win out, we'll both have the same AFC record, and the same record in common games (3-2). The next tiebreaker is strength of victory. We have the edge right now, but if the Bengals beat the Ravens (presumably 12-3), they might beat us out in that category. Again, this is all assuming we win out (lol)

nj meadowlands
That playoff machine cannot possibly account for what the Dolphins and Ravens' records are in Week 17.

nj meadowlands
Just ran that playoff simulator where both teams win out and the Ravens are 12-3 going into week 17. Jets win out and they should be in.

Jets win out and they should be in. Yup, I did that as well... The only way the bengals get a tie breaker is for let's say for example we beat giants, and they lose to cardinals but then we lose to dolphins and they beat ravens In that case were both 9-7 but they gain the lead in conference record
aec4
That playoff machine cannot possibly account for what the Dolphins and Ravens' records are in Week 17. It does I assumed higher win % wins other games. The tool lets you pick winner of each game. It is down to strength of victory (num wins your opponents have). Right now assuming we both win out we have 62 they have 53. Hard for them to make that up
T0mShane
The Giants no-showed today, Tuck looks shot and Osi isn't playing because he wants a contract. There are major problems in that locker room. If the Jets can keep Eli from throwing 40 yard bombs on them, the Jets could win next week pretty easily. Miami won't compete. Jets will make the playoffs, give the Steelers a scare, then get bounced. Woody will view the season as a huge success and the same group--Schottenheimer, etc--will return next year with no major personnel changes. This is what the Jets do. Jetkid94
Manish Mehta on twitter just confirmed that we're in if both teams go 2-0... ESPN stats shows we have a 10 game lead on them in that category so yeah.

Ghost
Justin Tuck = 5 sacks. Whoever Eric Smith is sticking = 10 Receptions, 125 Yards, TD. Jets lose.
jason423
Its not a 10 game lead, its only 5. ESPN fails to factor in what has to happen for both teams to be 10-6. For the Bengals to get there they have to beat a 10 win Raven team and 7 win Cardinal team. For the Jets to do it they beat a 7 win Giant team and 5 win Dolphin team, so the Bengals pick up 5 wins by getting to 10-6. Here is the updated SOV complete with locked in wins that are virtually guaranteed (ties would be the non guarantee) http://nyjetscap.com/2011_Post/sov.php
CTM
TN and oakland blowing it today was huge.. also, Houston losing is big, cause if they get the 3 as it looks like and we get the 6, we should win easily.. that team is nowhere near a good without Schaub...
