Phil Hughes wasn't bad, he was just hurt

Buchholz has a legitimate injury and is on the DL and was trying to pitch through it. He'll either be back at the end of this year, or the beginning of next season. And comparing the two is ridiculous because, well, just look at the numbers.

Buchholz's injury = Legitimate. Hughes' Injury = fake. I didn't even have to use the search feature to see your rabid homerism HAHA. You have so little self awareness it's actually interesting.

When did I say Hughes had a fake injury? Please quote my post that says that. Also please cite the news article that tells us what Hughes' injury was. Thanks.

you said someone else has a legit injury

meaning you think Phil Hughes is faking his injury because if you didn't feel that way you would've shut the hell up.

not even worth your rebuttal son

Again. What was Hughes' injury? I never saw an article confirming anything more than a tired arm. Not really an injury. If he had damage there that would make sense but he didn't.

Phil Hughes tests negative for circulatory and vascular issues, set to return to New York Tuesday

BY MARK FEINSAND

DETROIT - Phil Hughes' tests came back negative Monday for all circulatory and vascular issues.

Hughes was examined in St. Louis by Dr. Robert William Thompson, one of the leading specialists in thoracic outlet syndrome. Results on last week's initial tests showed a low-level risk for TOS, a condition that would likely have required season-ending surgery.

You Red Sox fans are hysterical. Hughes went from 93 to 84 or so. You don't think he was hurt? What happened? Even if it was dead arm I would classify that as an injury for a pitcher.

He just forgot how to throw the ball hard? LOL. I can't wait to see Hughes celebrating after another Yankees WS championship this year.

You honestly think this Yankees team is good enough to win it all?

So what was wrong with Hughes then? He just isn't all he is cracked up to be.

Can the Yankees win it all this year? Absolutely. They are in 1st place, have the best record in the AL and are just getting ARod back which is going to solidify that lineup. Colon becomes a huge postseason key for them because AJ just can't be counted on.

What is wrong with Hughes? He had a dead arm or some other ailment that had his fastball in the 80's. Now that his fastball is in the 90's his last few starts have been much better.

Of course not. They are playing in an era that is clearly dominated by the greatest team in the history of organized sports, not only baseball. I actually recommend that the Yankees take off the next 7-8 years because thats the stretch of dominance that we're looking at here. I'm not sure why the yankees even try to compete with such a unstoppable force.

The Yankees could conceivably win the whole thing. I just don't think their starting pitching is strong enough. Hasn't let them down yet though. We'll see.

It isn't a guarantee by any stretch. But since they have survived the injury bug I believe they have put the focus on playing good baseball (stealing bases). With ARod coming back, I hope they remember that, their love for the home run scares me in the post season against better pitching.

How do you feel now vs. 2009?

I feel a little bit better now actually. CC has been so strong this year...you lose a little in Mo possibly but the rest of the Yankees pen is so solid. A lot of the players are the same but you add in the Grandy Man. And whenever Burnett is in your rotation you realize that anything can happen good or bad!

Texas vs Philadelphia for the title.

He's been decent of late, but it's not like he's facing top tier offenses. It's got to be encouraging for Yankees fans though, I'm sure.

If he was a Boston pitcher coming off his 4th QS in a row after yankee fans crapping on him you would be running in circles/starting 17 threads about it/falating hughes.

I'm sorry we can't control the schedule to get him a few tougher games in there but I'll take games against the Twinkies

All I am saying is if the Yankees are counting on him come the postseason, linesup like the Tigers, Red Sox and Rangers are much more formidable than the Twins. They need him since the wheels are falling off Bartolo, AJ is terrible, and CC hasn't been good and can't beat the Sox this season.

I love the fact that the wheels are falling off the 1st place Yanks

How are we even in this thing with such a superior division rival
