TuscanyTile2
Personally I prefer things the old way where the draft took place over a Saturday/Sunday and it lasted practically all day each day. The prime time thing is almost annoying because you only get 1 round that first day.
j4jets
This is much better for the teams. They get to plan a little better seeing how it all unfolds, especially early on. And I like better planning.
AFJF
I think it's horrible. Much better to have it on a Sat/Sun. Teams have all year to prepare for any and all of the scenarios they might see and prioritize who they want. Giving them an extra night is a waste IMO. Jolot
Hate it, draft Saturday was always a national holiday for me...back to the fam on Sunday but Saturday got together with buddies for the whole marathon ... Now I just watch it from my couch and try and stay awake while I stress about work tomorow.

Jolot
To piggy back on my last post I also hate that Shefter-Mort usually come on and tell you who a team is taking right before they get to the podium.. I don't know why but it annoys me.. Takes any shock value out for me, I get it's a new twitter world but it still stinks.

Turn it on about the time the Jets pick, that's it
sourceworx
DVR has ruined the draft. I never sit and watch it anymore. I just fast forward between the b.s. and go right to the Jets' selections.

Matt39
It sucks. Draft Saturday was always a free day. But hey, Goodell speaks to the fans and the fans call for prime time drafts.

CotcheryifyouCan
nope dont like it at all. i understand it, because the draft and nfl has become so big and they get good ratings but i used to love watching all day saturday. now i gotta get up for work the next day usually hung over and disapointed. i used to have all of sunday to do that
slats
I miss spending all day Saturday in a bar in NYC at some draft party with a bunch of other people who care more about this team than they really should, but on the other hand, I'm not all that unhappy about getting my weekend back. NYJetsVets91
It is good and bad, for teams it is good for strategy... For fans it's almost torturous waiting another 24 hours after round 1. Personally I'm just having a hard time waiting these extra 2 weeks.

Personally I'm just having a hard time waiting these extra 2 weeks. The extra few weeks is killing me too. This is the worst part of the offseason for me as well cause FA has died and all the combine/pro day/visits stuff is winding down. The media comes out with BS fluff pieces day after day and every mock draft gets changed just because it's been a few days.
AFJF
Not true. Draft boards can change dramatically depending on how it all unfolds. I don't buy it. They shouldn't change that drastically. You have a "big board" of the players you would most like to have. When it's your turn to pick, you look at the board and choose between the top guys you have at that point. If the phone rings and somebody makes a trade offer, you negotiate and see what happens. They have just under a year to prioritize who they want. If you need that few extra hours, you weren't prepared to begin with.

If what you said was true, then draft should take no more than 4.5 hrs (a minute a pick or less plus trade talk times). Hell, I've seen the first overall pick take its entire time before making a selection. U think that team wasn't prepared? It's not that simple drafting a player. It could be the difference between drafting Peyton Manning n Ryan Leaf...or Al Toon n Jerry Rice.
