Given that no other country sent more fans to Brazil than America, and nearly every sports bar the nation over has been packed with fans for every US match thus far, I imagine the ratings will slide quite a bit. In 2002 I skipped school to watch our Round of 8 match with Germany. In 2010 I straight up left work for an extended lunch to watch our win over Algeria. I follow the team through the Hexagonal during qualifying. I even watch CONCACAF matches that don't even involve the US. I was cheering for Jamaica when they drew with Mexico in the Azteca during qualifying. I was a little pissed during our match against Panama when we allowed Mexico the chance to reach the WC. I had a feeling Landon Donovan wouldn't make the final roster and wasn't very surprised when it happened, whereas everyone I knew was panicking about the decision. Whatever it is about the USA they always seem to play better than the sum of their parts. Belgium have 3 genuinely world class players and about 6 more very good ones, they seem to struggle to play together though. The US on the other hand get the very best out of what they have. They've looked excellent so far and I don't think it would be a huge upset for them to advance. Genuinely rooting for MURICA, at least until they meet Holland/MUFC lite in the final. Yeah, I'd say this is at least a "pick em" match. Belgium did what they had to do and got the full 9 points, which is impressive, but their group was terrible. I can't see them falling before the Semi-Finals, and I don't think anyone in that foursome on the top left poses a serious threat. After that point anything goes. Germany is deadly.
