I say Simms. Bring him up from the bullpen, throw him in the fire in KC away from the scrutiny of Jets fans, and then a home game, then go into the bye with him getting a feel. Go with him for the rest of the season. At the end you either keep em all or dump em all.

Matt Simms was benched as the Vols starting QB for ineffectiveness. He definitely should be starting NFL games that matter.

simms was waived, and every team in the NFL had the chance to put him on their 53 man roster, not one did.  the entire league voted that he is not even good enough to back up.  forget about him

 

geno doesn't give a sh*t, is immature, curses out fans, shows up late to meetings and sucks at football, **** him

 

give vick a week of practice, and go all 1950's on the NFL, run vick, harvin, kerley and CJnoK in a crazy legs hirsch attack.  if the jets just move the ball and flip field position rather than giving the other team the ball at midfield every ******* possession they may actually win a game

That was then. He's had some solid plays and obvious mistakes that come from inexperience. Id still rather go with him cause of his knowlegde o QB, Even with his benching he still came out with a solid scouting report. Also there are plenty of successful college Qbs that fail in the NFL...

Trade Geno straight up for Jake Locker. See if a change of scenery would help either guy. Start Vick or Simms a few games to let Locker learn playbook. Then give him last 5 games to see what he has. Draft a QB even if you do resign Locker.

Were you one of the people banging on the door for the guy who played concussed when he was sacked 11 times against the Cardinals when Sanchez was the QB? Whatever happened to old whatshisname anyway?

If Matt Simms was good he wouldn't have been replaced at UT.

If he was good he would have been drafted.

If he was good he would have made ANY team's active roster.

If he was good he would have seized the opportunity he had last season.

None of that happened. Move on.

If those were the criteria for excluding giving a QB a chance there would b a lot less QBs in the HOF.

May be he sucks. Which would be no worse than the other 2. Smith is awful; Vick was game but he's old.

 

Or may be you catch lightning in a bottle, which does happen. 

 

As to his college career between UT and Lousiville he hit the bad Petrino/Kiffin disaster exacta. He also made some poor decisions. Perhaps he's grown up a bit.He may fail, but so what, it's no worse than the awfulness that is Smith and Vick is here for a paycheck only(though give him credit for being a pro in a bad situation).

We aren't making the playoffs. Do you want to keep this coach? This GM? They why the outcry for desperation moves that'll cost us down the road? Trading for Locker just straps us with Locker for the next couple years... it fixes nothing now. 

 

Suck it up. Take the losses. Clean house and give that #1 pick overall to people who know how to use it.
