Shockwave
...First, as mediocre as Locker has been, he has been better statistically than any Jets quarterback in the last six years, and he has been better than Geno Smith by a wide margin. Second, the Jets will likely move on from Michael Vick, meaning they will need another quarterback on the roster, preferably a veteran. Third, there just aren't very many good choices available in the free agent market. Fourth, of the available choices, Locker probably has more upside than almost all of them. If the Jets choose to move on from Michael Vick and/or Geno Smith, they could do worse than Jake Locker as a replacement. Locker is about our only chance of landing Mariotta. Hes going to have to play excellent for us to lose

#27TheDominator
the veteran FA QB market is why the Jets need to go QB in rd 1. High. Yeah, that is pretty much what you get from the chart that accompanies the article. The top two guys are Shaun Hill (I think Lars used to advocate getting him as competition/stopgap) and Austin Davis. Not exactly Murderer's Row. sourceworx
If Rex and Idzik were returning, Locker would make a lot of sense. He's beaten Rex and he's gotten seriously hurt. Really checks off both their boxes. LOL Rex and Idzik would be standing at his door at 11:59 on the eve of free agency.

Better2bgreenthanblue
the ironic thing here is that mark sanchez is the best option What about the CFL or Arena football? Picking from that list is like picking your sister for the prom. We ain't getting lucky from those cast offs! Who's the next Kurt Warner?

He does stand out among other jags that couldn't learn the job well enough to keep it.

Pcola
Since no one, I NC Ludington Woody knows who the hell is going to be making these decisions, no rumor about what we are going to do is true.
RSJ
No one even knows who the decision maker on the Jets will be in the offseason. That being said, I wouldnt mind Locker as a stop gap type QB.
Greenseed4
Isn't the league due for a surprise QB to emerge? It seems like its been a while since we had one of those. I'm not talking about some savior prospect. A (late career) Jeff Garcia is exactly what 30% of the NFL needs. Mobile-ish, throws 60%, and 2:1 TDs/INTs
pointman
Shaun Hill Austin Davis Jason Campbell Matt Moore Jake Locker Colt McCoy Brian Hoyer Christian Ponder Mark Sanchez Blaine Gabbert Moore or Colt. Sanchez shouldn't even be on that list. No way we revisit that nightmare. I don't care if he turned into Montana while in Philly. No thanks, ever. kelticwizard
I doubt Sanchez is going to be on that list. Maybe Foles.....
win4ever
Lol, this guy is nicknamed "Hurt" Locker for a reason. He has the same issues Geno has, doesn't make good reads, tries to force throws that aren't there, and misses his WRs more often than Geno does. Their offense actually got better when Whitehurst came in for him after he was hurt. Aside from being camp competition, he's not much (if any) of an upgrade to what we have, and we'll waste atleast 5 to 6 million to have him in here, whereas I'd rather spend that money to upgrade the roster somewhere else. The Titans are as desperate for a QB as we are, yet we're lusting after their garbage?
